It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

My College

Placement Experience:

My college has really good placements with an avg of 14lpa. Students sit in placements from the beginning of the 4th year. Almost all good companies visit our college. This year's highest package was 81lpa by Atlassian.

B tech in CSE at NIT Rourkela

Likes

The professors are really helpful. But, one has to put efforts and also approach them.
Seniors guide properly and are also very helpful.
There are a vast number of clubs here and can learn a lot just than academics.

Dislikes

Frequent power cuts, especially a night before the examination.
Food is not good in the hostels. Which is the same story everywhere I guess.
The climate is very much extreme. Extreme winters(3-4 degree celsius) and extreme summers(45 degree celsius).

TALES OF MY COLLEGE

Likes

Campus life along with big green campus.
Excellent placement in all fields also internship.
Amaging guide by faculty members and seniors .

Dislikes

85% attendance which makes academic hactic.
Very few core companies visit students of core branches are places in no core fields.

Placement Experience:

Different companies starts visit our College from 7th sem for internship as well as campus placement.companies like Amazon ,Google , Microsoft, Deloitte, Accenture,Wipro,TCS, and many other companies visit with a good amount of offers.Almoat 95% of the students are placed through campus placement.After getting degree I will got for MBA from IIM's.

All about NIT ROURKELA

Likes

Night cricket matches, which are exiting and thrilling
GD Birla hall of residence Night canteen
Roaming in campus with friends at night and chilling.

Dislikes

1st year academics was a bit though because exams were coming just after few days .
85% attendance policy of the college which makes acadmic a bit tough
Night canteen of VS hall is the worst night canteen in college.

Placement Experience:

Placement totally depends on the hard work of students. Most of the companies visit our campus, so it's easy to get a job from campus. The average package of college is around 9.13 lpa. Which is quite good.

Nit rourkela is a mind blowing place for learning along with whole development. During the weekends you can utilize most of time in playgrounds

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course for b.tech. faculty: student ratio is 10%. All faculties are qualified teachers he did his Ph.D. course. And the teaching method is well. The term exam is done at his proper time. And if I study properly the easy to pass.

Likes

Huge campus so, almost all facilities are available.
The classrooms are quite good as its a smart ons.
There is greenery everywhere so it is a good environment to live.

Dislikes

The food quality in the campus is pathetic.
Mostly the available accessories available in the campus has a high price comparing to the outside.
The professors are not so interactive that we can clear all of our doubts at once. vl

Course Curriculum Overview:

From the beginning, I was interested in an engineering degree and furthermore, when I saw this Institute in my hometown, it became the definite option for me. There are in total around 10 subs including the practical and accordingly profs are allotted. For some particular subjects which include sub-division, more than one facility was allotted. They are highly qualified from most institutions and taught as I'm the very easy way. The examination was not so easy to pass it's a bit difficult to score.

Life of a bachelor at NITR

Beautiful Campus , lecture halls , gardens
sports and club culture is great u get exposure
fest's are so many and all are lit ! You enjoy explore and explode

Dislikes

Over emphasis on CGPA and academics which affect placement too
85% attendance compulsion criteria to pass a course
Bad condition of hostels , 1 seaters are made 2 seaters

Beauty of the campus is definitely the best thing about it.
You get a good amount of exposure through clubs and people with different mindset
No ragging or zero ragging is guranteed seniors

Dislikes

If you miss exams even for any valid reason you will get a grade back after re examination
1st years are not given as much freedom as the rest like after 12AM you cannot go our or enter as you wish
Hostel rooma are mostly double bed rooms bo single rooms

Students from circuital branches get internships from 3rd year itself and placement in the fourth year. All the major technology companies and even core companies come in college placements. Most of the students get placed in one place or another percentage is on the higher side.

Honesty about my college is my policy

Likes

Classrooms are well equipped and good for studies
Tech fest and cultural fests and were good enough to be liked
Hostels have good facilities and food is also very good but rooms were very small

Dislikes

Electrical engineering Faculties are very arrogant and don't care for students at all
There is no system and discipline in college itself, it was just savage and barbarric sort of things that I could sense from this college
College isn't interactive at all, it's like college staffs are in their world without watching what is happening in student's world

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like electrical circuits and hardware and software. According to my guess, there must be 70 students per faculty which aren't bad. Faculties are all well educated except the ones in lower branches like environment and all. Our studies and syllabus were for 6 month - 6 months time course but they ended it in 3 months - 3 months which wasn't sufficient and we got to finish the syllabus at the last minute. The exams weren't also easy depending on the method they used to teach us, the exams were very difficult. It almost felt like this college has no system or discipline in it so how come they expect us students to be disciplined.

Lavish campus of nit Rourkela

Likes

Campus is awesome with greenery along with nagapond
Campus is of 1200+ acres and need a whole of energy to visit once
Hostel facility is good very big hostels are there

Dislikes

It has a high temperature during peak hours
It's climate is uncertain it could very cold and rain along with sunshine
You have to walk very much to get into your hall

Placement Experience:

6 semester students are eligible for placement. Many companies visit like Oracle, Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, etc. They make huge offers like on campus of 51+lpa and off-campus of about 2-2.4 crore. 100% of students get placements. After getting degree, I have many options to opened I will look after it.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
