Nottingham Trent University Return on Investment 2026

Nottingham Trent University is especially popular for its emphasis on employability. NTU ranks 1st in the UK for employability, as per Uni Compare 2025. It mentions that ~95–97% of graduates are in work or further study within 15 months.

As per the ESA Graduate Outcomes Survey, the median starting salary is around £25,000–£32,000 (₹30.75 – ₹39.36 Lakhs). For students who choose a one-year placement earn more. The 2-year Graduate Route Visa lets students gain international experience and earn in GBP, which significantly boosts ROI.

However, students from Punjab or Haryana must pay full first-year fees before. This may increase financial pressure while starting at the university. Living and visa costs add ~₹18–22L per year, which can be quite expensive. The students also prefer the part-time jobs at the university to manage the living and lifestyle costs.

Overall, it is estimated that the students can recover the university fees in 3-5 years alongside a stable career. For a good ROI, students should aim for scholarships at the university, which can help cut some amount of the total tuition fee. Going for a one-year placement can also improve the overall median salary after graduation. Thus, choosing the right course to study makes the biggest difference.

Nottingham Trent University offers a wide range of UG and PG programs with tuition fees ranging from £17,950 to £25,000 (₹22.08–₹30.75 Lakhs) and monthly living costs of £831–£1,393 (₹1.02–₹1.71 Lakhs).

Graduate outcomes indicate ~95–97% employability within 15 months, with median salaries of £25,000–£32,000 (₹30.75–₹39.36 Lakhs), suggesting a moderate return on investment over 3–5 years. However, upfront costs along with living expenses of ~ £9,972-£16,716 (₹18–22 Lakhs) annually, can create financial pressure.

Overall, NTU is a cost-conscious UK study option, but affordability and ROI depend heavily on scholarships, course selection, and post-study employment outcomes.

  • The course curriculum was challenging least to say for me because I had transferred over to media from a traditional business management background. The positive bit was the course on Global politics, which I enjoyed a lot.
  • The negative aspects were that there were a lot of physical elements that were expected out of us without proper depth of knowledge being given to us first. We had two classes in a day, and they lasted for an hour. My classroom was of 35 people in total, which was amazing as it was very niche and specifically targeted. There were only 2 Indian students enrolled in my course.

Fees

  • CAS - 3,000 Pounds
    • Tuition Fees- 15,000 Pounds
    • Student Living - 660 per month
    • Groceries - 100 per month
    • Outings - 100 Pound
    • IHS - 700 for 2 years
    • Transportation - 50 pounds per month for work
  • Other expenses varied
  • The tuition fee was semester-wise, as we opted for that option, which was given to international students

  • It was a mixture of both, consisting of group discussions, presentations, assignments, and digital education. The problem sometimes arises because of the language barrier and differences in accent, but eventually, you get the hang of it. The class consists of students from different countries, which creates a dynamic and different perspective, and also sometimes brings a language issue.
  • There used to be around 9 classes a day, each on different days and starting from 8:00 am till 5-6 pm.
  • The class was around 60 students, of whom around 20-25 were Indian students.

Fees

  • The total Fees were around 15000 GBP, which comes to around 17 lakh INR.
  • The fee structure was divided into two: Semester 1 and Semester 2
  • The monthly expenses included my rent, food and miscellaneous. The rent was around 700 GBP per month, which was nearly 80,000 INR and food expenses usually were around 30-40 GBP, which would be 4,000-5,000 INR. The other Misc expenses depended on going out, roaming around and other stuff.

  • In general, the difficulty level is average. My course was more practical-based rather than theoretical
  • The assessments were mostly assignments and posters
  • The classes were scheduled according to the availability of faculty during the week. Only 3 theory classes were rest of the session was conducted in the laboratory
  • There were very less Indian students in my course, only 2-3.

Fees

  • My total fees were £15000, which I paid partially. Initially, I had to pay £3000 to confirm my seat
  • And I also received a Scholarship of £3500, which reduced my fees to £950,0, which I paid partially
  • The fees can be paid in full or partially. There is no such time limit to pay can be paid anytime during the course
  • The monthly expenses, including rent, transportation, and food, can roughly be £800

  • It was moderately difficult, I won't lie. First sem was theoretical. Second and third were more practical, with a bit of both.
  • I thought I already mentioned it; the positive was the hands-on training by BBC execs and the negative was not getting opportunities to work there.
  • We had 3-4 classes per week. From 8 to 5. 15 students in our class. 7 were Indian.

Fees

  • It was broken into four parts and was all covered by the Education loan. Total 15 lakhs; after a 50 percent scholarship, it was 7.5 Lakhs which is the minimum amount of loan you have to take. SBI covered that in four halves, in 3-month intervals.
  • Housing was 4884 GBP which we paid from home. Monthly expenses were around 200 to 250 GBP which I earned from working part-time with the Josh app (an Indian app) remotely.

  • Extremely difficult. Being a one-year course, everything is packed completely. You never get time to relax or chill. The positives about my course are that it fits someone who wants to transition from a complete tech background to management. 3 days per week, 2 sessions each day, is the class frequency. My class had approximately 40 students. around 50 percent of the class are all indian students.

Fees

  • Total course fees were 18000 GBP. 3000 GBP was an advance and a one-time payment upon attending induction. It was yearly fees. Living in sheffield and commuting to Nottingham, my travel expenses were 120 GBP per month. Rent in sheffield was 500 GBP per month. Groceries, entertainment, etc., cost another 300-400 GBP. I would say 1000 GBP per month is more than enough to live comfortably. If on a budget, we could do 800 GBP too.

  • The course was quite practical in my first year. We did a lot of group activities, group presentations, discussions and meetings as well. The difficulty was not high but the pace of the course did make me feel like I needed some extra help
  • Positive: The online portal made a lot of things easy because everything about lectures, attendance, seminars, events, etc was available on the website and the app which was in development in my first year.
  • Negative: The two hour lectures were quite daunting because of the amount of information lecturers would provide only in theory format.

Fees

  • For me, an international student, tuition fee was £11,000
  • Accommodation fees would vary based on how close to the city centre the Flat or house was located. My accommodation expenses came up to £6,000 per year. This included utility bills as well.
  • Food expenses ranged from £200 to £300 per month.
  • At Nottingham Trent University, Tuition and Accommodation fees can be paid in instalments of three months every year for the entirety of the course.
  • You also have the option of paying the full amount of the tuition and accommodation fees.
  • Monthly rent was £130 (including utility bills), food expenses £200 to £300
  • Please note! Laundry can be very costly so maybe get a bucket and hand wash if you can and/or want to save money! Using Laundry Machines (such as, Washing Machine, dryer, iron for press) costed £20 to £30 per month
  • The transportation cost for the bus (because I only used the bus throughout my time at NTU) came to £21 per month. I had purchased a bus card for a public bus line which cost £250 for one year and that way I got unlimited travel allowance inside Nottingham.
  • Please note! If you are live within campus accommodation but your particular accommodation flat was situated more than 6 miles away from the campus then you would receive that same bus line card for free (it will be included in the cost of the accommodation)

  • The difficulty of the course was medium to high based on different modules that we would study, the classroom had limited students making it more focused and easy to have one on one interaction with the professors.
  • The number of students in my cohort was 23 students. Mostly the group consisted of asian students and a couple of white students. We would have like 3 days of face to face lectures and 1/2 days of online webinars.

Fees

  • My course fee was £15000, but i had also received a scholarship of £3000 so had to pay only £12000 as tuition in two installments and overall living expenditure for the entire academic year added to another £12000 which was paid by family.
  • I would also work part time to pay for my everyday expenses like food/ groceries, travel, going out over the weekend and other miscellaneous expenses

  • I found my accommodation on a website called "University Living". It was pretty straightforward and they gave me a virtual viewing, making it easier for me to book it in time.
  • There are also installments in paying the accommodation fees that can ease some expenses for you during the initial days of settling in the country.
  • I was too late in finding an on-campus accommodation, as that usually opens in March for a September intake course. They are usually cheaper but you have to be quick. Always find a place through a service as they are reliable rather than going with private agents to avoid issues in a new country.

  • Well not relevant to subject which I chose. You do not get much exposure in luxury industry. You get experience and good exposure of standard international fashion management course.
  • Course has 3 Terms you have to pass in each of each term to be able to clear your final exams. Modules changes every year in each term. For me it was different module than last year. Latest module and credit score will be mentioned on official website of university under the course name.
  • Practical teaching were adobe sessions which comes in term 2 of the module. It totally depends on the module and what you choose.
  • In term 2 there are 4 modules and we have to choose any 2 and accordingly you will get to know what are your classes timings and activity and task for the chosen module.
  • Term 3 is personal project which is totally a topic you yourself choose for your final project.
  • It is not difficult to study but they mostly teach online. Practicals are there depending on module you choose but you get hardly a week time to learn. They expect professional level of learning in a week which is impossible. You get less time to prepare before you give your final submissions. So you need to make sure you work daily on whatever learning outcomes are given.
  • Online Lectures are recorded so you can visit anytime and view it if you missed any lecture.
  • Course was not helpful to build career in the chosen subject but you can always try your best.

Yes, we had industrial exposure, especially in Term 3. Our course syllabus was sketched in relevance to the latest industry trends. The coursework is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the global business environment, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making.

Fees

19000 Pounds, but I got a scholarship of 3000 pounds, which made my course fees 16000.
