Remarks

There are so many positive things that I have already mentioned. But it has a few negatives also. As the institute is old enough, the buildings are also ancient. They badly need a refurbishment. The whole campus is also not so large as compared to others as it situated at the heart of Durgapur.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

As mentioned above, it's a postgraduate course of two years, held in four semesters. First two semesters are for general classes of respective subject. Then from third semesters, everyone has to choose their Specialisation and a professor as project guide. For the rest one year, he/she has to do a little project under the professor and has to submit a thesis of what he/she has done in this one year.

Placement Experience

4

Placement senario is quite good here. Though the institute is dominated by the B. Tech students, there are some companies come for the PG students also. In B. Tech, 75% students got placed in the campusing last year. For PG, it was around 60%.

College Events

4.5

In our institute, various kinds of events are taking place in every month. But out them, three fests are held very rigorously. 1) Aavishkar (Hold in Nov) 2) Aarohan (Hold in Feb) 3) Recstasy (Hold in April)

Fee Structure And Facilities

In PG courses like M.Sc, the fees are quite low as respect to other NITs & IITs. We have to submit around ?15000 per semester for the institute & hostel. For B. Tech, it is around ?60000 per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

One can avail the students loan in the campus without any hastle. SBI and Canara bank has their branches inside the institute premises. They offer the students loan with pretty easy procedure. And one can apply for the state/MHRD/caste scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

There are certain equipment and infrastructure for the extra-curricular activities. We have two big grounds with galleries, namely Lords and Oval. Institute has a fully equipped free gym. A whole indoor auditorium is given to the students for any cultural activities. We call it SAC (Students Activity Center). Other activities like giving free education to the poor students of Durgapur is also part of it.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel fee is included in the institute fee. All we have to pay for the foods. Food rate is also reliable. It is around ?90 per day, and they provide foods four times a day. Hostel's infrastructure in decent for the boys, as the hostel's are a bit old,but we get all the necessary accommodates. But the girls hostels are very good as they are newly build.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. They are pretty helpful. Some alumnies are idols to us. Every year a Convocation ceremony is held in Nov. Then all the pass out students are invited. The good thing is that, there are hardly any incident like ragging occurs here.

Admission

To get admission in the Matser's in our institute, one have to clear the JAM (Joint Admission test for M. Sc) exam with a valid score, which is held every year in the month of February. Then he/she has to go for the councelling in "ccmn.com". After the required choice filling and allotment of institution, he/she has to come the respective institute for verification of documents and get final admission.

Faculty

3.5

The faculties are very good. In our Physics department, there are 12 faculties. All are doctorates and doing various kinds of researchs. They get their funds from DST, MHRD, BRICS. All of them have their respective Labs and at least 3-4 Ph.D Scholars.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My decision to choose this course depended on the fact that this course provides you with the opportunity to get various jobs in the industries with a high lpa. But this college does not help much in that aspect. All I had to do was myself. It is my humble opinion that the institution should improve its guidance in the area of its teaching methods. The exams were twice a year and were quite difficult on their own.

From the 2nd last semester, that is the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. Last year, two of our seniors got placed at Reborn Child Development Centre (Durgapur and Asansol) with an average package of Rs 200,000. This year, three students of our batch, including me, got an internship for three months at Reborn through an in-person interview.
