Course Curriculum Overview
I study CSE AI ML at Chitkara University and I rate the course plan as good and job linked. I chose this course because it covers AI, ML, data, and core code skills with labs and mini proj work. The syllabus is wide and gives base plus new tech topics, which helps for real work and also for higher study later. Lab tasks and code tests give some real use sense, not just book theory. Exams happen each sem with class tests, lab tests, and one end term exam. The level is medium, not too hard if you do reg prac. I feel more live proj, more deep code tasks, and slow teach pace in some classes would make it even better.
Internships Opportunities
At Chitkara University, intern chances are shared by the place cell and dept teams. Students can apply from about 5th or 6th sem for tech and dev roles. Firms like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and some AI and data start ups offer intern roles. Common roles are code intern, data intern, AI intern, test intern, and web dev intern. Stipend based interns often get about ?8,000 to ?25,000 per month, based on firm and skill test. Most intern tasks are real proj based. Students work on web apps, ML models, data dash boards, API links, and test tools. Many interns build live proj like chat bots, data analy tools, and full stack sites. End result is a proj report, code repo, and demo. These interns help in skill gain, resume value, and pre place offers in some cases.
Placement Experience
Placements at Chitkara University are decent for CSE AI ML. Students are allowed to sit for campus drive from about 7th sem. Many tech and service firms visit like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and some product firms too. Offer count is good for CSE branch each year. Avg package is near 4 to 6 LPA for most roles, and top package can go much higher for select students in dev and AI roles. Around 70 to 80 percent students get some offer if they meet skill and marks rules. The place cell gives test prep, mock talk, and resume help. After my degree, my plan is to get a dev or AI role first, then grow skills and later move to a higher tech role or MS study.
Fees and Financial Aid
I study CSE AI ML at Chitkara University. The tuition fee is about ?1,50,000 per sem, so yearly it is near ?3,00,000. At the time of admission we also paid reg fee, adm fee and a caution deposit. These one time charges are about ?10,000 to ?15,000 in total and the caution part is refund able. Lab, dev and exam charges are mostly added inside the sem fee, so no big extra lab fee is taken each term. Bus fee is ?42,000 per year if taken. Hostel fee is ?75,000 per sem, so ?1,50,000 per year. For four years, total tuition is near ?12,00,000, and with hostel and bus it can reach about ?18–20 lakh. Seniors told us fees rise a little for new batches, so there is slow fee growth. For quota types like manage quota, fees are higher than merit seats. SC and ST students usually pay same fee first, but can get govt aid later if they qualify. Some of my batch mates from SC, ST and OBC groups get post matric and state aid that covers part of tuition. The college has very few direct fee waivers, but govt schemes like merit cum need, post matric and minority aid are open. The aid amount changes by income and marks, and may cover part of yearly fee.
Campus Life
My overall campus life at Chitkara University has been active and social. The campus has a good mix of tech and fun events, which helps students bond and grow soft skills. The main annual fest and tech fest are held once each year, mostly in the spring months like Feb to April. Many clubs run events, hack days, and code meets that keep student life lively. There are student run tech clubs, AI clubs, and media groups that manage events and share updates on student portals, which makes peer connect strong. The library has a wide set of books for CSE, AI, data, and core engg topics, plus journals and e books that are easy to access with student login. Class rooms have smart boards, proj units, good net, and lab PCs with needed tools and code kits. Sports and co-curricular options are also good, with gym, team sports, indoor games, and club based act like drama and music. These groups help reduce stress and build social links across batches. Overall infra and student groups add strong value to campus life.
Admission
I chose Chitkara University over other colleges mainly due to the AI ML course, lab focus, and campus infra. When I compared with other private colleges, I found this one had a more job linked course plan, better labs, and strong tie ups with tech firms. The course mix of code, AI, and data topics matched my career goal. The campus life and club culture also looked more active than many other options I saw, so it felt like a better fit for my growth. I also applied to a few other colleges with CSE seats and got some offer letters, but top tier govt colleges did not work out due to my exam rank and cutoff gap. My score was not high enough for those seats, so I could not make it there. In some cases seats were full by the time I applied. Nothing major went wrong, but my rank and seat limit were key factors. The admission process here was smooth and simple. For CSE AI ML, basic need is 12th pass with math and good marks. The college accepts JEE score and also gives seat via its own test and merit based entry. Many students prefer JEE score for direct seat. Cutoff is not fixed like govt colleges and changes by demand. I filled the form, shared marks, did doc check, paid the reg fee, and got the offer letter. The full process was fast and clear.
Faculty
At Chitkara University, the faculty ratio is fair, with one teacher for a medium size class group. The teacher student bond is mostly good and many teachers are easy to approach after class or in lab hours. Doubt help is given if you ask. I liked my AI and data science teachers most because they use real code tasks and live demos. They focus on logic and not just notes. I did not like a few theory based teachers because they read slides and move fast, with less doubt time. So quality varies by subject and teacher. The course structure is split by sem with core and skill based subjects. Each sem has internals and end term exams. Internals include quiz, lab test, assign work, and code test. Marks are split between internal and final exam. In coding papers there is a fifty percent pass rule, so you must score half marks to pass. Exams are medium level if you do labs and practice code. Some students fail if they skip labs or copy work, but most pass with steady prep. The course plan is job linked and useful for tech and AI roles.
Night Life
Night life near Chitkara University is calm but social. After class, many students relax at cafe, food court, gym, or hostel common area. Main cafe and food spots stay open till late eve, while library and labs close earlier at night. Gym also has fixed close time in late eve. Public sit areas and plaza zones stay open for student use for longer hours. Hostel has in time rules at night, so entry after a set hour needs pass. Campus gate also has time checks for safety. Inside campus, hangout spots are cafe, plaza, sports area, and hostel lounges. Outside campus, students visit near food hubs and small cafe spots. The local area is mostly safe at night in groups, but solo late night walks are not advised. These late eve meets, food runs, and group chats add fun and balance to college life.
