Course Curriculum Overview
The course fee is one of the main reason for choosing this course. UICTE’s curriculum is industry-aligned, research-focused, and practical but needs more industrial exposure. We have two Mid sem exams from best of two is considered and End sem at the end of semester
Internships Opportunities
Our college offers decent internship opportunities, mainly in the chemical, food, and energy industries. Companies like Reliance, GAIL, Honeywell, and Indian Oil offer roles in process engineering, R&D, and production management, with some internships having stipends.
Placement Experience
For placement students can apply in their last year respectively Top recruiters at UICTE include Reliance, GAIL, Honeywell, ExxonMobil, and Technip, offering many roles, but exact offer numbers aren't publicly available. Highest package for chemical engineering this year is 12 LPA and average is around 5 to 7LPA I want to do something of my own after this degree
Fees and Financial Aid
As an EWS candidate I have payed 12000 last year fee and 14000 this year. Every year there is 3200 for examination fee For general category the fee is 128000 The examination fee for ews is 2400 which is less than general category
Campus Life
Our college life at UICTE is pretty good, with events like Cyanide, the annual fest, making it even better. There are various clubs, like Reverie for music, which keep things fun and engaging.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are decent, with basic amenities like a bed, table, chair, and cupboard in each room. There’s WiFi, common areas, and a mess for food. The meal quality is average, with a set menu that gets repetitive, but it's manageable. The hostel registration process is straightforward, and the fees are affordable compared to renting outside. If you rent a PG, areas like Sector 14 or 15 are good, with better food options and more freedom, though slightly expensive. Overall, the hostel is convenient.
Admission
I wanted to join this college because of its location and college life overall I haven't applied to too many college as my rank was low and I liked the environment and college life that this Department and university provides Generally admission process is similar to most of the colleges. It takes admission through JEE MAINS score. Last year the cutoff for chemical engineering was 120000 And for chemical engineering-MBA it was around 350000
Faculty
The faculty at Dr. S. S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology (UICTE) is highly qualified, with many professors holding PhDs and extensive research experience in chemical engineering and food technology. The faculty-to-student ratio is fairly balanced, allowing students to have decent access to professors for academic and research discussions. Most faculty members are approachable and supportive
Night Life
Nightlife is also good as we got 24x7 open hostels both girls and boys And we also got central library of university AC Joshi Library 24x7 opened But outside university there is very less Nightlife as chandigarh is almost dead after 10pm
