What Students Say
Likes
- A solid experience overall from my side such as the vibrant campus big ground keeping everyone hooked
- The library is another big plus huge well stocked good for students who prefer a quiet environment to study in
- Excited about the upcoming fests mainly Nexus expecting a lot from it since my seniors talk about it a lot and thats the best part of DU
Dislikes
- The canteen even though there are healthy options i personally prefer a huge variety of options even though im a non vegetarian myself i dont mind eating veg food and all just a wider variety sounds good
Course Curriculum Overview
ill rate Venky's curriculum an 8/10 for their relevanve and comprehensiveness which is solid under NEP framework for all semesters Chose it because NUS would be perfect for me post Bcom with my CAT prep building For improvement i'd push more for international finance electives and study abroad
Internships Opportunities
I personally have not joined internships yet so far in my college but ive interned for my aunt's NGO called Impulse NGO network which fights against human trafficking ive done social media work there personally planning to do more internships to gain more exposure and get skills which will prove useful later i my future life
Placement Experience
Placements at Venky is decent for a south campus college specially for bcom students who land offers through their active placement cells most students start their internship from 2nd year onwards Top companies such as deloitte, wipro and ey visit so total is quite good highest package if im not mistaken was given to one for 21L and the average package ranges from 5 to 6 lakhs per annum Personally for me im gunning for CAT to crack iimand then fund a masters abroad for global finance exposure
Fees and Financial Aid
In our college the yearly fees are around ?22,855 and for the complete 3 years course it will be around ?68565 broken down into ?10000 for tuition fees ?1000 for registration and other compulsory charges including computer fees and all. College fees is the same for all categories so i dont think theres a difference in that since im an st student myself and feel like everyone should pay the same fees ensuring fairness in the college system overall. There are various scholarships available and I myself have applied for the NSP via govt. portal
Campus Life
Du is known for its college fest and thats the best part our most popular one being Nexus held in the month of feb is the most exciting one yet to come my overall experience ill give it a 9/10 with the friends ive met and made good memories so far the huge library with well maintained stock which proves to be useful the computer labs and other facilities i personally love football and yes its very active and a good one at that too in this college societies ive joined like NESA for north east students and students from ladakh to connect with each other promotion of culture and societies like Enactus that ive joined in my first year which is focused on entrepreneurship and innovative ideas
Admission
Initially dreamed big and tried applying for NUS for their bcom equivalent but fees were insane so i backed out early even with scholarships and all it was beyond our reach Turned to DU top south campus college as a smart backup for its affordability its prestigious and strong for my upcoming prep Have to clear the admission process through CUET exam held once a year and the benefits it gives so i just prioritised the south campus vibe
Faculty
The faculty to student rato is around 19:1 if im not mistaken keeping classes manageable most professors are super chill and approachable help im clearing doubts and all in class or whatsapp Fav professor would be my BOM teacher in semester 1 she's super super chill and teaches really well My accounting teacher would be someone i dont like i think because her explanations for the subject itself is hard enough for me to catch up rushes with the syllabus so yeah There are a total of 6 semester exams in DU colleges over 3 years which is relevant enough
Night Life
After a day of classes love hanging out with my friends talking roaming here where i stay in dehi called Satya Niketan made lots of friends in this area i stay in a PG as i didn't opt for the college hostel and the closing time is usually 10 30pm famous hangout spots which is safdarjung because of the food and the north east hub which reminds me of my hometown MKT in north campus because some of my friends stay there and we go roaming there eat in cafes and so on sarojini market as we all know cuz we love buying clothes and thrifting because of the cheap rates
