Likes
- College has very nice infrastructure. The library building is quite resourceful and air-conditioned.
- Spacious and lovely cafeteria. There are 3 canteens in MH - all equally beautiful.
Dislikes
- Not all rooms are air-conditioned. the old arts block has only few rooms with proper air-conditioning. But it is getting improved as of now.
- Classes start at 8:30, it's too early. should start from 9:30.
- Some teachers teach solely for namesake.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Political Science honours because I am interested in understanding real world political scenario and its effect on the society. The course is very theoretical. It would be much better if we had real world examples at each chapter.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total yearly fees: Rs.15,540. Miranda House provides various scholarship opportunities for students with family income below 2.5 lakh and 1.5 lakh. I don't remember the names of scholarship and not sure about my batchmates'.
Campus Life
Overall, the college has been really great. I love the faculty and my friends. The ambience of MH in enchanting with lovely cats around. The flowers of MH always win 1st rank in DU flower show. I am in the MH Chess team and NCC, the seniors are very dedicated in teaching each and everything to the juniors.
Admission
I chose Miranda House because it was then NIRF#1 and it is very beautiful with glorious and worldwide reputed alumni. The other colleges that I applied to were Hindu College and Lady Shri Ram. I visited all three colleges and I liked MH the most because of its vibrant campus.
Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is 1:60 which is highly lopsided and not fit for proper and efficient teaching. All the teachers teach well and no one gets failed in MH. Professor Pusha Singh is the best faculty ever.
Night Life
I live in a PG and I have never really gone out at night. But I believe the nightlife around MH is a little quiet, but when you come a bit near Vishwavidyalaya metro station, there's always hustle and bustle.
