Course Curriculum Overview

5

The Maths Hons. curriculum is great for theory and the core pare are absolutely solid which is why I chose it, it genuinely prepares you well for academic pursuit like Msc or any other competitive exam. But honestly it needs a serious update on the practical side, we should have more papers like data science and coding to make it more job ready. Exams are fine, you get a fee interenal tests, practical and stuff and then the main semester exam. They're not that tough if you attend 70% of the classes as the professors are quite good at teaching and obviously totally doable if you study regularly.

Internships Opportunities

5

We have our annual job and internship fest, which takes place in february or march with over 50+ companies from startup to well know names interviewing students from the college. You have so many opportunities even if you're a fresher and the stipend is fine too.

Placement Experience

5

I don't really know about the placement yet as I'm still in my 2nd year of college but the internship opportunities are quite good, you get a lot of well know as well as startup companies here looking for interns making it easily accessible to every course and year.

Fees and Financial Aid

honestly, the fee at deshbandhu college is a sweet deal. For my course, last year the annual fee was around ?21k and this year it's around ?22k which in my opinion is quite affordable, especially compared to other colleges. You're basically getting solid education from a very good faculty and a great campus with decent labs, with a very big library and the infrastructure is great too, all of this without breaking the bank. Its totally worth for the quality of it

Campus Life

5

We have a lot of fests and events happening in college and some of them being the annual fest(sabrang) which is a 2 day festival with different artists performing and a lot of fun activities happening in campus, all of the events are held throughout the year and it is quite nice for being more social. There are a lot of societies and clubs, where you get to meet new people while enjoying and learning about different things and exploring and explanding your skills in whatever you're passionate about.

Admission

I applied to a few colleges and honestly Deshbandhu wasn't really my first choice and after I got my results I was quite skeptical about it but after I did some research and found out how it's ranked higher than most of the very famous colleges and my department was considered somewhat good in whole DU, I decided to give it a chance and I'm very happy with my decision, I found so many good people and teachers here, totally worth it not to mention it's very close to my home :)

Faculty

5

Personally the faculty of my department are very approachable and friendly, you can contact them anytime with something you need help with and they do their best to assist you with any issues. I don't think there's any faculty that I didn't like. There are total 7 exams which include 3 core subjects, 1 general elective, 1 AEC, 1 SEC and 1 VAC. The exams are moderate, till now there hasn't been any exam that was difficult or had something out of syllabus so it's quite easy.

Night Life

5

The locality is very clean and safe as it is situated in almost the heart of south delhi with a lot of hangout spots like gk, hauz khas etc and our college os situated in kalkaji so we have the main market with almost everything from fast food chains and cafes within a 5 min walk.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is too good. As my course is life sciences so instead of learning about only one core subject like in botany hons and zoology hons course, we get chance to learn about zoology, botany and chemistry simultaneously. That Also unlock a large no. of opportunities for my future. Acc to me the ratio of practical lab and theory classes should be increased like we only get 1 lab for one core subjects in a week so I think this no. Should be increased so that we can get more practical knowledge. The difficulty level of exams are too much High like it seems we're hons course students that should be decreased.

Campus placements are for commerce background mostly, usually in 3rd year you might see some placements. I don't know exactly about thr company who visited because I wasn't enrolled in that particular course. Campus placements percentage is very low to be honest . 10-20% mostly. I'll pursue masters.
