Course Curriculum Overview

5

It is Pec . Undoubltably one of the best colleges in India . So the Curriculum has to be fine . Which turned out to be true . I will say , according to me the curriculum is designed pretty well for real world applications . The only area of improvement that I want to say is , the faculties should be a little more enthusiastic about teaching . The course is actually very fast , so that's kind of a problem . Otherwise it's fine

Internships Opportunities

5

I am only in 1st year so dont know too much about this stuff . but as far as I know , all kinds of internships are available from here . Even internatinal level fully funded internships are given . So if someone is interested in internships , PEC is like heaven as they gives you a lot of time too do internships .

Placement Experience

5

placement stats of my college is great. Better than most of the colleges out there . Even better than many NITs and IIITs , with an avg package of 14-16 LPA . And every year the Median and Avg package is increasing . Highest package till now - 83 LPA . Students are allowed for campus placements after 5th semister All the big companies out there , from Google , microsoft , amazon to Delloete , JP Morgan , AmericanExpress , to seimens, oracle , L&T , all companies come here . around 70-75% students gets placed from here My plan is to get the highest paying job offer possible for me , that's it .

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees - 49000 rs Hostel allotment fees - 81000 rs ( for 1 year ) mess fees - 30000 rs ( 1 year ) semister fees - 96000 rs total fees of 1 year approximately - 2.5 lakhs . Grand total fees of B.Tech of 4 years - approx 12 Lakhs the fees generally increases 10% every year , in compound rate . There are Scholarship available , but not officially given by the instititute itself .

Campus Life

5

The campus life depends heavily on the person . Me as a student , i am not at all interested in anything other than academics . So for me it does not matter really . But for others , the campus life is pretty good . There are markets inside , outside . Its chandigarh , so city life is also fine . So it's great for social aspects . There are more than 20 clubs . Both technical and non Technical . Each of the clubs are run by students and the head of the clubs are a professor. Infrastructure provided is enough for all club activities . ---------------------------------------------- The main fest done here is known as PECFEST . This is ususally held in November . some other fests are also hold , but they are done in a much smaller scale . if we talk about library , the library here is also very big , well maintained , has all kinds of books , but predomiinantly academics related , fully AC , and great for studying classrooms are fully equiped with all the mordern devices , from AC to Smart board Almost all kinds of sports are played here , with fully equiped sport centre here Extracurriculars are these things only , nothing out of the box

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel costs 75000 rs each year . which is much expensive comparing to the facilities given . the hostels for 1st years are old and small , each room having 2 beds , 2 almirah for 2 students , and 2 study table . Meal quality is good enough . in menu it mainly includes north Indian food such as rice , roti , paratha , different curries , egg , chicken , veggies , fruits , cornflakes , bread , puri sabzi etc etc . Registration for hostel is done during offline accomodation . The money has to Drafted from your account to the warden's . I wont say the hostels are that much of affordable . The bathrooms are all clean , but they dont have washing machine . so you gotta do some work there

Admission

after jee I applied to many colleges , such as - PEC , NIT durgapur , IIEST Shibpur , IISER Mohali , IISER Bhopal , NIT Jamshedpur , NIT Patna , NIT Jalandhar , Jadavpur University etc . At last I got PEC in the councelling . I did not choose PEC , the CSAB council only gave this seat . Hence I did not reject any other colleges . Among all the colleges I applied , except IITs and top NITs and JU , PEC was the best college . That's why i choose it . No other reason . I couldn't get into IIT cuz I failed JEE ADV . So I eventually ended up here with my JEE Mains rank . Admission process - Through josaa , csab , dasa . Cutoff varies a lot . for CSE the last rank might be 25k in CSAB . For Metallurgy it can go upto 2 Lakh ranks . Admission process is same as all colleges , online then offline reporting .

Faculty

5

here in PEC , on avg the Faculty: Student ratio is 1:60 as far as I have seen , except 1 or 2 , all of the faculties are highly friendly and fully approachable for any kind of academic problem . I personally liked almost all the faculties . For example Prof. Rajesh Kanda , he is extremely friendly and approachable . He teaches S.O.M and Mechanical engg. He is just an example , I personally loved all the faculties . The pHD faculties are even more friendly . I dont have any faculty that I personally hated . Some of them are not good at teaching , but thats something I cant controll . Every subject has its own quizz , and semister exams , viva etc . There are about 10-12 exams per year . Exams are morderate level , so it's okaish . But cause most people dont study very hard , you can easily be the topper . Our teachers are very advanced , so they always try to teach the relevant topics only .

Interview Experience

5

There were nothing this kind of GD or interview or anything at all . The process was simple and efficient and took around 3 hours , here in the day of physical reporting . All the nessecary details were previously given in the official website only

Night Life

5

The nightlife in the college is safe and fun . arround the college also , you will find everything , plus the transport system is also very well . so thats absolutely fantastic in my opinion . There are gyms outside the campus , inside the campus . Cafe , library , gardens , Sukhna lake , everything in nearby . Hostels has no time limit for boys hostels . Mess gives us food for 4 times a day . And the quality is pretty good .
