Course Curriculum Overview
I am a CSE student, so the subjects are almost same in any other college of india, core subjects include DBMS, CN, OOPS, OS, etc.You will get a lot of repetitive questions in your semester exams so just see the Organizers (PYQs) before going for the exam.
Placement Experience
You are eligible from 7th sem to sit in placement,Top companies include infosys, TCS, accenture.Average package is around 4-6 lpa and highest for the current year(2025) is 109000 lpa.For this year, almost 80% students are getting placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for each semester is rupees 69575/-,there is no relaxation of fees based on category but you will get scholarship worth rupees 60000 every year if you don't have back in any subject and a minimum ygpa of 6.
Campus Life
The main fest called ELIXIR happens in every 3 years(I have not experienced it yet).Apart from this there will be events like Techstorm, Departmental quizzes,etc.Sports are held anually which includes mainly Cricket, Football and throwball for Girls.
Admission
As you know besides some renowned colleges almost all the colleges in Kolkata are of Tier 3 and are almost same,the average package lies around 4-6 lpa.So, I opt for B.P Poddar as it have a lower fees compared to Netaji Subhash Engineering College and Techno Main SaltLake which i was getting.
Faculty
Almost all the faculties members are helpful and qualified,most of them have a phD or Mtech Degree,The syllabus is based on MAKAUT University,before semester exams there will be four class assessments(CA) and 2 Practical class Asessments(PCA),but it is quite easy to get good marks in them.
Night Life
The classes continues from 9:45 till 4:00pm, There are plenty of stores for snacks and all near the college.As it is near the Airport so you will find a lot of good places to roam around and it is pretty safe at night also.
