Remarks

College faculty and management are very helpful in nature.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As all science courses demand High input from its students. Our 1 st lecture starts at 8:40 am. Usually, a single lecture is of 1 hr duration and Labs lasts 4 hrs per subject. The course is of CBCS type( choice based credit system) and the syllabus is the same as per Delhi University. I genuinely feel, it is designed in such a way to impart students both theory and practical knowledge. During your 3yr of graduation, you can also undertake any project or research work of your interest under your professor's guidance.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell of our college is very active from organizing a range of very helpful seminars to inviting various companies. Companies like KPMG, Deloitte, Byju, Oyo and many more. Commerce and arts background ground students are high in demand.

College Events

4.5

Annual NSS Diwali fest 'Zistatva': Many NGO's and other colleges 'Enactus' societies put up their stalls. Every year various competitions are also organized such as Rap battle, Talent hunt, Ramp walk and many more. All DU students are allowed. Annual college fest 'Reverie': It's a 3-day extravagant festival. Each day, we have some highlighted celebrity performances. This fest is a huge potboiler of food, dance, and music.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are very affordable as expected from a government college. BSc. 1 st year fees 10k-12k(annual). But, recently it has increased up to 13k (annual). Still quite affordable. BSc. Courses generally have more fees as compared to other courses. Like BA or B.Com courses have fees around 9k in our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are some scholarship programs for financially weaker students and sports quota students. There is also a Gargi Pathfinder award given to students with the best research paper. I don't have much deeper knowledge, as I have not availed of any scholarship.

Campus Life

4

Gargi has listed many times as one of the best Women's colleges of Delhi University. As a science student, Labs are an integral part of our courses. Gargi College is one of the 2 colleges and the only women's college of Delhi University to have BIF( Bioinformatics infrastructure facility) funded by DBT. Our college also provides immense opportunities to its students to showcase their talents through various societies like.. debate, quiz dramatics, dance, street-play, etc. Many inter and intra college competitions are also organized throughout the year. Each Department has also their individual societies. Like Quasar - physics society, Taru- Botanical society, GERMS- microbiology society and many more.

Alumni/Alumna

Very few alumni meet-up or network is there. But the senior-junior relationship is very cordial. As our college has Anti-ragging policy, which makes it a very safe and supportive environment for freshers.

Admission

Most of the ug admissions are solely based on the 12th percentage. Several Cut off list comes out till seats remained vacant. BSc. Courses have seats around 30- 90 depending upon courses. During admissions, Best 3 subject percentage is considered. For example, for admission to BSc. Botany, the aggregate of Physics, chemistry, and biology will be considered.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very knowledgeable and supportive. Teachers are highly qualified. All the year around various workshops are organized by professors of various departments. Especially, professors of my course are very caring and supportive. Apart from lectures, they always try to provide comprehensive notes and study materials, which greatly help during the semester and entrance exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
