Course Curriculum Overview

4

Specific aspects of the curriculm that influence my decision to choose this course is as I wanted to do my major in computer science and then I decided to opt Bsc CS Hons. I curriculum doesn't really prepared you for the real-world applications. The areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum is that it need to be more specific for the computer science course and teaching methods are really good like some teachers teach very well, they even provide the notes for their specific subjects. The frequency and timing of exams along with my perspectice on its difficulty is that exams are held only once per semester even though there will be some class tests for every subject.

Placement Experience

3

From 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements. As I am in the 1st year only so I don't have any information about the companies visited & the number of offers made. I also don't have any information about the highest and the average package as per the company and the profiles offered. I don't know the percentage of students getting placements in my college. My plan after getting the degree is complete a cybersecurity course and do some bug bounty programs.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid around 60k last year in september while I was taking admission in this college. Only for my course(Bsc CS(Hons)) the fees is this much otherwise for other courses fees is around 15-20k per year. This 60k includes everything about the course including the tution fees, caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and the other compulsory charges during the course completion as per my category(which is SC). I think fees for all my batchmates is same even if there category is different. There are some fees concussion for the students who apply for it. I don't think the fees will be increasing this year. Although the fees will decrease for us in the 2nd year.

Campus Life

4

The name of the technical fest is Sanganak Vimarsh, they are held for every year. You can access any of the book in the library, there is even a E-library. There is not really any facility available within the classroom. An overview of sports and extracurricular activities offered on campues is like you can play any sport like Carrom, Chess, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball and many more. There are alot of student-run social groups, clubs or student portals including their impact on student life like NSS, Paritantrika, there is a society for almost anything based on your interest.

Admission

So I didn't really apply to any of the colleges I filled the preference sheet in the csas portal and I got selected in this college. I chose this college because it was very convenient for me, not that far and not that close from my house. No I didn't get any rejection from any other colleges. The admission process for my college is through CUET conducted by NTA, The eligibility for my course is atleast 45% in 10+2 and the exam accepted for my course is CUET only. CUET is the exam mostly preferred by the students, cutoffs for this exam for my course was 650 for general and around 550 for my category. Overall the admission experience is very simple and online.

Faculty

3

The faculty-to-student ratio is like 7:10 there are alot of faculty members. Every faculty member is alloted a group of students. The faculty to student relationship is good like the faculty don't get angry that easily or anything. Yeah, the faculties are very approachable you can even connect to them through whatsapp, they will respond to every query. The name of the faculties I have liked till now is Archana Mam and Rashmi Mam because they both are very polite, they teach in a very sweet way. They are the best faculties for me atleast. The name of the faculty I didn't like is Dr. Sachin Tawra Sir because he for whole 2 semesters he didn't teach us anything, In the 2nd year he didn't even taught us the basics of some units because of which our exams didn't go well, even for attendance he don't take classes from his side and gave us 0 in internal assessment. So there are only 1 exams which are conducted at the end of the semester. The difficulty of the exams depend on the subject. In my batch some students failed to clear some exams last semester. The course is very relevant to the curriculum, the subjects they teach is so related to the course we opted.

Night Life

3

So there is a open gym near the massive ground of our college which you can access any time. The last time to exit our campus is around 5:30 PM after that guard will tell you to leave the campus if you don't have any work in the college. Famous hangout places inside the campus is nescafe inside the campus, there is mother dairy outlet, canteen, and usually everyone hangout in ground. Outside campus there is Satya Niketan where all the PG's are, there is almost everything in Satya there are whole lot of cafes in the Satya also there are pool, snooker tables in Satya Niketan which you can play but they are paid. Satya Niketan is safe for everyone in the night as mostly college students live there.

Students become eligible for campus placements around 5th to 6th semester. Highest package of 2024 was 25LPA. Usually 8CGPA is considered a sweet spot for campus placements plus it gets them easier to get into world class universities for post graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.
