Likes
- College Academics are more inclined towards Tech courses instead of traditional courses taught to all students of first year.
- One of the emerging and going IIIT's across the India. Developing at faster rate than expected.
- Students are quite skillful and placed at well known companies and startups. Students are also trying to build startups.
Dislikes
- Campus life is not as expected. May get better soon but campus is still developing.
- College has only one hostel building which cannot accommodate all students. Out of 2000 students around 1200 reside in hostel rest of the students have to find PGs aur flats nearby.
- Connectivity with city is also one of the major issue that college faces as college is 20km away from the city Nagpur.
Course Curriculum Overview
In terms of relevancy, courses are quite relevant as per the industrial requirements. We don't need to study traditional courses like mech,chemical courses. We have to study Data Structures and Programming from the very first semester.
Internships Opportunities
Companies offers SDE, Data Analyst, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, Embedded Systems Engineer,VLSI engineer type of roles. Various companies visit on campus. Students can also apply for off campus if they want. There are credits for internships compulsory.
Placement Experience
After 3rd year students are eligible to apply for on campus internships and in 4th year 6 month internship is compulsory. Talking about placements generally 3rd or 4th year students can apply for on campus placements. For companies you can the college website about companies, percentage placement, highest package, average package, median package, lowest package, etc. Also there are various options such as Mtech, MBA or abroad studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
For first year - (per year) Academic fees : 2,47,000 (including one time) Hostel fees: 1,28,000 (including first time charges) For rest of the years- (per year) Academic fees : 2,29,000 Hostel fees : 1,16,000 There are various Scholarships available at the college website given by different state governments and central government for SC/ST,OBC-NCL and Gen-EWS.
Campus Life
We have TantraFiesta as our annual technical fest with around 5M+ insights all over the India and Abhivyakti as our cultural fest with similar insights. Both the fests are conducted by club founded by students of college. We have various tech clubs for coding, AI/ML, IOT or Robotics,Game dev. Apart from that we have cultural clubs for Singing, Dancing, Acting, etc
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are generally 2 seater or 4 seater for all years. There is almirah, fan, tubelight, bed, table and chair available in hostel rooms. Slider window with soundproof doors are there. For Mess meal is not to good it's kind of average. There is a menu of 1 week which repeats in upcoming weeks.
Admission
First factor is Connectivity from Metro cities as all the other IIITs whichever I am getting are at places not good for consideration. If you are General Male with rank around 30-50k you should consider CSE and ECE of this college.
Faculty
Faculties are well qualified with great research work in their respective fields. College has most of the faculties which are Phd's or Doctorate. Also they have studied from well known institutions like IITs, NITs.
Night Life
We have Campus curfew after 9:30 PM due to safety issues. As the campus is far away from city and town it is surrounded mainly by open area where wild animals are spotted during night time. Apart from that hostel Life is quite joyful. You can stay awake uptill whenever you want to. There is Gym, Night Canteen, Mess, Table Tennis Hall, Store, Common halls in hostel building.
