Mine Btech Experience in Gcoey

I opt for computer engineering. The course curriculum is average. I think you can learn a lot more. Lectures took place regularly and covered most of the curriculum part but is not enough for any competitive or placement preparation. The faculties are good. The class strength was 60 in 1st year. After branch change and lateral admissions in the second year, strength increased to 76. The faculty members were holding mtech degrees. Teacher method varied from teacher to teacher. As in the semester pattern, end-term exams took place twice in a year. Apart from them, ca1 of 10 marks ca2 of 20 marks and mid term of 20 marks took place. Exams were not tough. Still some students had backlogs from 1st semester itself. You need to study well for exams. Teachers teach enough so that you can pass the exam easily.

Companies started sending their placements form to college groups from starting of the 7th semester. For particular branches, particular companies visited. Many companies send their placement forms this year. But each selected a max of 2-3 candidates only. In the strength of 76, 15 got placed on campus this year. Selection rates or placements criteria were too low.

Overall fees are around 25000. Apart from them, exam form fees vary between 1000 to 3000 which you need to pay semester-wise. There were multiple scholarships and financial assistance provided to students depending on the caste they belong to. Many students got placed. But the percentage of placed students in the class was less. Many companies have sent their placement forms to colleges through an online process. Very few (2-3) companies visited campus. And the highest package was around 8lpa. Entc had higher packages offered compared to other branches.

There are no tech fests or annual fests in college. Only a few functions like shivaji jayanti are celebrated. Sports day events are held. There are several books and journals available in the library. The environment is good but the College is under construction.

It was based on CET scores. In cap rounds, I was allotted this college based on my preference. You should check the official website and the timelines of admission. As I was in the open category, I wasn't eligible for any of the benefits or concessions. But, there were several seats like obc, sc, st, vjnt, ews, tfws. And the students who were in these particular criteria got huge concessions over fees and also received scholarships. The cutoff was not too high. Students with low percentile having particular categories were allotted. But, for the open category, you need to score above the 90 percentile.
