Student's Snapshots

General

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Many people nowadays choose the course relative to the other courses that they qulaify for during the counselling, looking at which is the best one according to placements and other factors and that is also the factor with me. Mainly the core curriculum of the subject (Mining in my case) mainly teaches the things not so important for the current scenario where everyone is after IT and consulting jobs. But if someone has to go for the core jobs they have to maintain a high CG and also have to had vast knowledge about the subject.

Internships Opportunities

5

The students can sit for on campus internships in their pre-final year where they are selected by the visiting companies and if performed well during the internships can also offer you ppo. However students usually try to get internships after the first year in order to get experience and gain real world knowledge. Many off campus internships include new start-ups and small SMEs, where there very less to no stipend. However there are stipends for thr on campus internships with the highest being ?100000 per month.

Placement Experience

5

The placement statistics are off the charts, with 367 offers being made to 361 students in the recent edition. The student can seat for internshps offered by diffent companies that visit th campus in their pre-final year, while they are eligible to seat for the placements in their final year only. Apart from this there also other restrictions for seating in the placements like Cg should be above 8.5 and there should not have been any disciplinary charges against you, etc. The companies visiting the college also have their own preferences for selecting the students. In 2024-25 the highest CTC is nearly 2.5 crores p.a. offered to a student of CS branch. The EC department getting the most number of offers i.e. 73.

Fees and Financial Aid

First Payment = ?40000 (Payment made while counselling and later sent to the college by JoSAA) First Year - ?297260 (including the ?40000) Second year - ?286129 Total fees to be paid for the five year dual degree (B.Tech+M.Tech) course = ?1500000 (approx.) The fee structure consists of one time payments Institute (?1000), Library(?1000), and Hostel (?4000) which are refundable. The semster fees include the tution fees (?100000) and other small fees making a total of ?105750) per semester. The hostel fees are approximately ?40000 per semester but can fluctuate up or down within a range of ?5000 based on the hostel assigned to the student by the Hall Management Committee (HMC).

Campus Life

5

The students organize various fests most of them ocuuring between Jan - Apr semester. The KSHITIJ (Tech Fest) focuses mainly on various competitions among the students of this as well as other colleges involving heavy cash prizes and internship opportunities. The SPRING FEST (Cultural Fest) on the other hand is more of a festival where different big artist visit the college along with students of different states to enjoy a 3 day festival. There are also different small competitions between colleges.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities vary from hostel to Hostel but overally the stay provided is very good. In most of the halls people live with one or at most 2 room mates, and there are also chances of getting single rooms in future(if any). There regular room changes after every year and after first year there is also a hall change after which they have to live in that hostel till graduation. The food quality however is not at par with other facilities. With some hostels it being better in other nig hostels its very bad.

Admission

While counselling I got this college along with all the other IITs except Delhi and Bombay. My decision for choosing this college was its presence in the country for so long time making it the oldest IIT giving it huge reputation and opening a wide range of opportunities of all kind. People here can pursue a profession completely different from their dream, can build start-ups and even go for reasearch. The placement statistics also speak of its magnanimity with an average package of ?2400000 p.a.. People also build a network with people of diffent states, ethinicity, language, etc. that heps even beyond the world of study, money and placements. The admission processes for the college are many, most common being the JEE ADVANCED and GATE exams that provide seats for B.Tech and M.Tech courses.

Faculty

5

While taking classes in the first year every student is assigned a section irrespective of his/her branch with one section consisting of about 100 students and total of 20 sections are made. Usually there is only one professor for two section in almost every subject, and is assisted by the teaching assistants (TAs) who are Phd or reasearch scholars.

Night Life

5

The night life here is very awesome with well lit, clean roads and food joints operating till late night. You can always find people on the streets wlaking or cycling enjoying the time with their friends. Library remains open till 10 pm but it opens for 24 hours during the exam time. There are gyms in every hostel and aprt from that there are gyms centrally which one can avail by paying minimal amount semester wise. There are 3 helipads which are very famous spots for viewing the sunrise and apart from that there place os hangout like the ADDA,etc.

Placement Experience:

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management, healthcare, media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting, education, sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. MY PLAN AFTER GETTING THE DEGREE: After completing the degree my primary focus is to secure a jon through campus placement and gain practical knowledge. Along with working i will continuously work on my skills upgradation through certifications and training programs relevant to my field.
