Remarks

This college has given opportunities to students in every domain whether it is sports or academics or some other extra curriculars. The current director listens to every problem of the students and try to solve them in minimum possible time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is fine but seems like it has not been updated from years. Right after first month of the semester quizes of every subject are conducted. There are mid semester exams and end semester exams along with assignments.

Placement Experience

3.5

There are enough placement opportunities for circuital branches especially computer science and electronics. It is mandatory for a student to have an internship of 6 months during their 3rd year (6th semester) in the college. For this many companies visit our college to recruit interns and they provide stipend too and it varies from company to company. But these internships are mostly in the domain of finance and coding so only circuital branches are able to make good use of these opportunities.

College Events

5

Pecfest is one of the greatest fest in north India which is completely organised by PEC students. From marketing to publicity to infrastructure everything is taken care by college students. Students also organise events at pecfest like star night in which some Bollywood singer is invited then we have dance competitions and stage plays and street plays. On the third day we have EDM night. There students dance and enjoy life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is expensive. The fees is taken semester wise. Right before the beginning of semester the fees is taken in advance. But there are half or full fee waiver depending on the performance of students or if a student belongs to economically weaker sections.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships offered to students. Class toppers gets half fee waiver. They get full scholarship for one semester in a year. Then there are scholarships for students belonging to economically weaker sections and girls from women category that is only girl child in the family.

Campus Life

3.5

There are a lot of Extra curricular activities in this college like music, dance, acting, art, projection and design, editorial boards. Every domain works really hard and complete in inter college competitions. In sports also our college competes and win. Labs are maintained but still there is a scope of improvement in maintenence and improvement in infrastructure of lab.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are really helpful in this college. Infact they are the one who are heads of these cultural clubs and with their instructions and guidance we learn slot. Seniors are so friendly that we can party with them. They treat juniors like their siblings, guide them and help in solving their problems.

Admission

The admission in this college is based on the marks we score in JEE(Joint entrance exam). After result of JEE, I filled the form of JAC and there I gave preferences of colleges and their streams. Then online seat allotment take place and one got admission.

Faculty

4

College faculty is quite knowledgeable. But when it comes to teaching only few teachers are good at teaching. Some teachers are friendly and really helpful when it comes to extend lab timings so that students can work on their projects.

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

There are very limited art college in india and GCA Chandigarh is 1 of them. I opted for printmaking because I wanted to explore different mediums of expression. The college is well equipped with faculty experienced in their own particular mediums aswell as exploring new mediums. You will get the freedom to build you creativity.
