Likes

The experienced faulties were the first attraction of the college. They have a proper laboratory set up for different elective subjects.
The campus environment is very good. It is very adjacent to the river Ganga. The college is full of history and cultute. Although the college is based on Christian Minority, but there is no boundaries between any castes and categories.
The laboratory infrastucture is very good as this college offers good quality instruments and chemicals.

Dislikes

This college will not support any placement or intership.
College will not provide new project activity but they will offer review article.
Course curriculum is not properly aligned with university curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very vast and completely aligned with the CSIR-NET exam. The pattern of exams and questions is mostly the same. The course curriculum can be improved with some technology-based knowledge. The frequency of exams is 2 exams in a year.

Class Size: 28Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

An M.Sc degree in Zoology, from Serampore College under the University of Calcutta charges 20,000 rupees per semester. There are 4 semesters to complete the course in 2 years. So the total course fee was 80,000 rupees whereas the yearly course fee was 40,000 rupees.

Campus Life

Campus life is full of colors as there are annual festivals like science exhibitions per year, alumni meet, cultural festivals, and special celebrations like Holi, Saraswati Puja, and many more. Along with that, so many seminars happen on the college campus to make it vibrant.

Admission

As the college has a diverse range of elective courses and opportunities I chose this college. The college offers different seminars to get noticed by other colleges. So exposure to the outside world can be helpful for students.

Faculty

The faculty-to-student ratio is good at the college. Faculties are very friendly and courageous during the course period. One of the famous faculty is Dr Subhadeep Sarker, professor of Genetics and Molecular Biology. The experience and teaching method of this professor is very engaging and knowledgeable. There are 4 exams during the course period. In every 6 months, one exam will come. Almost all the students passed. The course curriculum is not exactly aligned with university curriculum.

Night Life

There are no such hangout spots near the college campus. A student has to travel at least 1 km from the college premises to get dine-in restaurants, cafes, market places for shopping. Near the railway station are so many hangout places and activity zones are there to make it more engaging.

Placement Experience:

Actually Some of the Local Companies & Private banks Offer placements which are averagely worth 250000/-. Some of the Students appear for it , but the Number is Very less. Actually In Present Circumstances , Most students wants a stable Government, Especially Central Gov job . So they Prepare for exams like SSC , SBI , IBPS, LIC , RRB etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are quite good.But if you are looking for placement I would suggest to join M Stat or MSQE rather than M Math. M.Math students mostly go for higher studies. Regarding you will better recommendations in ISI.

Niper Kolkata: from starting to end

Placement Experience:

2nd year students are eligible for the campus placement. Sai, Hetero, mendine, dr. Reddys etc companies visities for the campus placement. Offers ranges from 5-12 lpa. 60% students gets placed, 10% goes for higher studies and others get job off campus in my department. Other departments has 100% placement. My plans are pHd from Niper as it provides vast knowledge and instrumental exposure.

Life in a government college

Course Curriculum Overview:

See the Nipers are only college in india that provide MS pharm degree . This is a good degree that provide many oppertunity in research, Research and development and formulation and development role in pharmaceutical industries and professor role is government institutions.For admission to niper you have to give GPAT held once a year approx fourty thousand students apply and those who qualify they giver NIPER JEE after qualifying Niper jee that is almost one thousand sit of niper councelling.

Placement Experience:

The students from the 3rd semester become eligible for campus placement. TCS, WIPRO, BISLERI, AMUL, etc visited no. Of offers are 1-10 in general. The highest package of 4-5 lakhs and the average is 2-2.5 lakhs in general. percentage of students getting placements is generally 60-70%. I want to be a food microbiologist and want to job in the food industry.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The future job profile for this subject is quite good. That's why I selected this course. The faculty: student ratio is 1:8 The qualification of all the faculties is PhD and their teaching method is very interesting. There is 3 exams (2 internals and 1 semester) in a six month semester. It's neither very easy nor very difficult to pass the exams.

i applied to the National University of Singapore where i got admission in the Economics course but had to take back my offer due to personal reasons. moreover i tried for colleges in Delhi University however my score wasnt adequate for the college i wanted for economics so i had to stay back in this college which otherwise was my choice over any other college. the admission process here is rather tedious, you have to get your registration form for this college signed by your school principal with your picture and get that along with all other original documents during the document verification day, eligibility i believe includes the presence of mathematics at any cost. the cutoffs here go pretty high, especially for economics, calculated on a maths+best of 4 basis out of 200....Read More

Perfect campus for economics student

Admission process are very simple. Generally entrance exam was conducted for admission but I took admission just after COVID so I didn't give any entrance exam. But cutt off was very high. At least 70 percent marks in graduation are mandatory to take admission in this university on the merit basis. Application form are generally found on University official website in August.
