Our college rocks!!

Mechanical and Automation engineering is like a stream which ain't that popular but we have the finest and the top quality labs. Infact we have access to all the labs but other stream students don't have access to our labs. So, our curriculum makes us total adept of our subjects and a final product in third year itself.

IGTWU is known for placements better than Delhi University, so for those pursuing technical courses, opt for IPU over DU. From L&T to Bhel and some defense sector companies are the ones who encourages students by providing them top placements and with a salary of no less than 5-6 lakhs a year.

IGTWU is among the top universities or rather college of Delhi to pursue in Delhi. Our fees is close to 150k a year and one can choose any engineering as admissions on CET are given and if somebody comes through management quota then some caption fees has to be paid. EWS and other minorities scholarships are available and students can get 20-100% scholarships on the basis of that.

Our campus is huge and infact very huge. It's built in 70 acres and has an open ground of almost 30% of total college area. Nearly 12 blocks as no high rise buildings all small blocks. There are two good canteens as one is mostly the fast food types and the other one is a proper meal canteen. Hostels are inside the campus and also there are two mess as well. Taarang is our annual best but one should look at our college during Janmashtami as the campus is decorated just like it's in Brij town.

Our college has two hostels and the IP hostel where I stay is inside the campus. So, hostel are good as all rooms are on twin sharing and two students stay in one room. Washrooms are inside and mess is also nearby. We also have a basketball court right outside our hostel.

I applied for IIT Delhi which every engineer student anyways does. Apart from JEE, i also gave Comed-K and CET and admissions in IPU are through CET. Process is long but not complex at all as admissions here happens in rounds and after 4-5 rounds of counselling which starts in June, it goes on till early August.

Well, the ratio is a complete match because I have always felt that number of faculties must be high. In our college it's 1:8 and if this is not a ratio that one longs for then I don't know what else it can be. Out of all the faculties Rajat Sir is my favourite or somebody whom I look upto.

College itself has gym and cafeterias but since Kashmiri gate is nearby, the chole kulche outlets to small counters of juices and fruit stalls are right outside the college. Even a lot of street food sellers have their raidis installed outside our college.
