Course Curriculum Overview

5

We had comprehension based reading in the preparatory course after that from first year we had journalistic Chinese which helps us to understand the geopolitics at the certain extent. One can use these knowledge as their foundation for future endeavours. There are 2 internals before semester and internal examination is quite challenging in comparison to that of the semester. If you can download well in the internal examination then you will definitely do well in the semester examination .

Placement Experience

3

From semester 6 students become eligible for the campus placement but very few companies come for campus placement . Average package of in campus placement is 6 lakh . However students generally go for off campus placement and choose the company of their wish. More than 95 percentage of pass out students gets job in the corporate sector very easily. For me I personally want to go for higher education !

Fees and Financial Aid

At the time of admission I paid 6080 rupees and then 2080 yearly.Besides this we have to pay the examination fee of every semester that cost 306 rupee. There are few scholarship like vivekananda scholarship and NSP. For hostel I pay 3600 annually.

Campus Life

3

This place is still holding on its traditional cultural festival and it's a very good things and it is entirely different from any other university , probably that's also one of the reason why it is the first living UNESCO heritage university. The library of this university is very rich one can access library very easily and the library have a lot many ancient as well as modern books .

Hostel Facilities

5

In a room there are 3 person.Few hostel aso have mess facilities.one can get the hostel in a month after admission . It cost 300 a month but for sc and st's they only need to give 50 rupees of registration once in the entire duration of living in a hostel .Besides this they don't need to pay a single rupee.

Admission

I applied for Delhi University and I got the counselling call for the German language but seeing the competitiveness and demand of the Chinese language I didn't attended the counselling of that course. Then we had our own examination not one have to appear in the cuet to get enrolled in this university.

Faculty

5

In a class there is maximum of 40 student . In our department overall 8 teachers are there which is quite helpful for us while learning the language .And faculty here is very good and very approachable one can approach them whenever they want. There are 2 internal examination before the semester and they take the average of this internal examination out of 15 and final semester exam is of 60 marks .so all together exam is of 75 marks. Since Chinese is one of the challenging language so people often get backs but if you will persist on with patience you will definitely do well.

Night Life

5

The railway station of santiniketan is quite peaceful and beautiful students of various departments usually visit there in the night to spend some time alone . There are a alot of coffe shops and tea stall to go to,you can go there with your friends group and can spend time with them. Whole campus is very safe to roam around in the nights.

Placement Experience:

Number of students who have been placed is far less than what it should be ideally. Kolkata is a paradise for law practice as it is the largest city of India and lawyers have always been in demand here. Still only 30% of the students are placed here and that's a big issue considering the name of our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main thing that I love about the curriculum is that we need to study in depth. Our syllabus contains most basic to really professional level stuff which really help us prepare for real life experiences and further academic pursuits. The only change i would like is more practical experiences that would be helpful.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

As I mentioned, the course curriculum is outdated and no new industry knowledge is being taught. Projects and assignments are also bookish and are just for sake. Teaching methods by teachers are also bookish and backward. The frequency of exams are after every 6 months and are pretty manageable and easy.
