Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is more updated than some IITs for branches like CSE, don't know about core branches though. Subjects like quantum computing are being taught by which students take interest from graduation days. Teaching is very old-school and needs some modifications according to time. As stated earlier, in a semester there are MSTs and ESTs as exams as well as sessionals for CGPA grading. Grading is relative and not absolute.

Internships Opportunities

5

There is a dedicated project semester(8th semester) so that students get practical experience before graduating, most of the companies that visit for placements provide internship opportunities. Apart from that if someone wants to go for higher studies he/she can do research internships under either college faculty or other renoewed colleges like IITs, BITS etc.

Placement Experience

5

Placements for circuital branch is very good. Around 90-95 percent students get placed in these branches, most companies visit during 7th semester. Companies like JP Morgan, Deloitte, DE shaw, Arcesium visit campus every year. For core companies like L&T, Maruti visit regularly.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid around 18 lakh fees, the total fees was around 20 lakh, I got merit scholarship of 2 lakh in first year. Top 10% students of every branch get merit scholarships amounting of 3 lakh, 2 lakh, 1 lakh. There is also scholarships for economically weak students, they only have to pay hostel fees.

Campus Life

5

In terms of fests you can google them they are so popular. Fests like Saturnalia, Thapar Food festival have a special place in my heart. In terms of clubs there are clubs for techies like CCS, MIC, for cultural clubs we have MUDRA and NOX and volutering clubs like Ojas. For sports we have a perfect cricket pitch, indoor badminton courts, 4 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts and so more.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel Facilities are good, there are single seater, double seater, triple seater hostels as well and all have different ranges of course. Hostel food is not so good and not so bad. Renting outside should be avoided as you will miss the college life. Registration of hostels is a simple process and is done on first day of semester.

Admission

This college is better than new NITs and other private colleges like Manipal, SRM, VIT. Especially for a north Indian this college is so good, you got to experience rich culture of Punjab. From placements perspective as well this college is a gem. If you an option for NITs like NIT Allahabad, NITK, DTU then don't opt for this college.

Faculty

4

Faculty are a mix of some too good and some not so much. Semester is divided in following ways: 1) After first half of semester there are MSTs(Mid Semester Tests). 2) At the end of semester there are EST(End semester test). After from these are sessionals and quizzes of small weightage during the semester. Exams of most subjects can be considered of Moderate level.

Night Life

5

There are lots of cafes outside the campus in 3-4 km range. Inside campus we have gyms in every hostel. And coffee places like Jaggi, snacky areas like G-block cafeteria and a whole complex called COS with very affordable and delicious meals. Hostel timings are not restricted as such, but you cannot move out of campus after 9PM unless you get a permission.

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
