Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum of this course was changed last year to remove irrelevant subjects like physics , chemistry, engineering drawing and more on the department specific courses like electromagnetic engineering, network theory, semiconductor devices etc. The course although is very great a small improvement can be done by pre defining the scope of the course and its use in various specialisation fields. The exams are timely and not too frequent or too sparse . exams after a few core concepts are cleared is held and is very good for Students benefit

Internships Opportunities

4

The interships here are offered by companies like Google, Wipro , Infosys, Tata , and other major MNCs the projects are depends upon the stipend being offered which can ranges from a few thousands a months to lakhs depending on the amount and quality of work you are offering to do . The opportunities are plenty.

Placement Experience

5

The campus placement starts mostly at 7th semester or 4th year students . The major companies that visit are , Google, vipro , Qualcomm, nvidia, etc the highest packages range about 2 cr and average lies in the range of 30L as per official data. my plans after a data is a Mtech degree from a foreign University.

Fees and Financial Aid

Detailed fees structure is 1,00,000 semester per sesmester as semester fees which amounts for 2lakhs per year. the hostel fees stands at 20,000 per semester or total around 40,000 per year mess fees is 15,000 per semester which makes up 30,00 per year other charges such as examination, medical etc arounds to 22,000 semester therefore total accounts for 2,92,000 per year or about 11,70,000 for the entire course

Campus Life

5

There are two major fests in IIT Kharagpur kshitij which is a tech fest that holds all sorts of competitions from people around the world like robowars , hackathon, business ideas , etc with a lot of prize money. The springfest is annual cultural fest with a lot of activities stalls and great concerts. The library has a very large collection of books which is frequently updated , one of the largest collection in India. the facilities in classroom are top quality with AC systems smart boards speakers etc all installed. A ton of extracurricular activities are provided with events like inter-IIT , shaurya , inter hall GC being held regularly along with compulsory 3 hr fitness class a week. SWG (student welfare group) operates and help students in their day to day difficulties.

Hostel Facilities

4

the hostel room basically has only fans lights and switch boards + one cupboard per person. each room is shared by 3 roomates. registration process of Hostel is simple and is affordable though the mess food quality is not that good and some dishes just contain too much oil.

Admission

I was alloted this college and this course based on my rank in JEE advanced the colleges which and branches which I preferred before this closed at an earlier rank. The admission process to this college is to secure a rank in JEE advanced based on the cutoff which differs every year .

Faculty

5

Our class has 150 students which is kind of large for a class. This IIT has the biggest batch sizes compared to others though the faculty is very qualified and more than capable of handling such classes. Our branch contains some of the best faculties though mentioning names is avoided. also the attendance policy makes us flexible to decide classes. some marks though are alloted for attendance but they are kept low enough to cause serious impact

Interview Experience

5

No , The admission was purely based on my JEE advanced rank . The range of JEE Advanced rank typically for my branch for General Male Candidates were around 1200-1400 AIR. Those for General Female candidates was about 3300 AIR. A nominal fee of 35,000 was paid at the time of seat allotment for booking seat out of which 5000 was counciling fee and the rest 30,000 was adjusted in college fees.

Night Life

4

main Gym is paid for 500/- a semester and has great equipments though individual hostels have their own gym library is open up until 12:00 midnight but during exam time they are open around the clock. the cafeterias and restaurants have their own closing time but the hostels and campus gates are open round the clock . the famous hangout spots are probably Gymkhana , PFC , lakeside park or helipad depending upon the group size and motto of gathering.

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
