Course Curriculum Overview

4

My curriculum consists of electrical and electronics subjects. I chooses this course as my percentile was 96.5 which was quite not good for higher branches than my current in this college. For higher branches i have to go to far states but this college is near my hometown so I selected it. Sem starts from January and mid sem starts around April starting and end sem exams one month after this exam. Difficulty level is moderate, sometimes higher , sometimes lower. This course can help achieve quite good placement in core sector.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internship opportunities are low and solely dependent on skills of students. Besides Google, Microsoft , Nvidia are the major companies which provides internship to students of this college. Intership can availed starting from 3rd year . Higher the skills , higher chance of getting internship. Besides marketing companies also provide internship offers to students. Companies like google and Microsoft provide 50k internship to students. While the mid companies provide approx 10k stipend. Not all internship are paid ones at here. besides a student can crack higher stipend paying internship based on talent and the connection through LinkedIn.

Placement Experience

4

The placement of my college are quite good. My branch has average package of 9.6 lakhs and the highest package of 22 lakhs per annum while in higher branches highest package was 1.5 crore per annum and average was about 15 lakhs. Placement percentage is quite good. alumni network is large as well as helpful for securing placements.in CSE BRANCH approx 96 percent students who are eligible for placement process are placed. Besides in my branch 88% Students are placed successfully. Companies like reliance, Flipkart, Amazon, Google , Microsoft, cisco, samsung, etc visit every years for placements. And my plan after completing the degree is to secure a placement. I will aslo try GATE EXAM. I don't have plan for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees per semester is 60k + 25k for students have household income above 5lakhs. For students in between 1 to 5 lakh range pay 25k +25k. Students with less than 1 lakh income pay 0k + 25k. (25k is for facilities which is compulsory for every student to pay , tuition fees is different for different students).for sc/st tution fees is NIL , they just have to pay 25k per semester. I lie in the first category of fees structure. Besides students with less income can avail NSP SCHOLARSHIP. In it 1.25 lakhs are given to SC/ST , 80K to OBC , 50k to gen ews

Campus Life

4

The major festivals of Northern India and Southern India are celebrated with great enthusiasm. Besides cultural festival, fests named Utkansh and TechNiti are larger platform fests. These are of high budget , i remember last time renowned Punjabi singer Akhil was invited. Besides fest , talking about library there are two major buildings. First one has large book collection, in which book and journal of almost every subject you can rent for free. And the other building of library is for studying. Student can visit anytime to study there away from any kind of distraction. Wifi and PC are Provided there for studies. Within classroom, ACs , projector, smart boards etc are available , these help in better understanding of topic. Sports fest are also organised very frequently. Clubs like Aarogya , Bhangra , Deja Vu , IIC , Daksh , etc are the major ones which are active all over the year.

Hostel Facilities

4

A single room is normally allotted to 4 students. A bed , a chair , a study table and a almirah is provided to each student. Besides Only Fans Are solution for summer. Coolers are to purchased by students on their own. Meal quality is mid. Menu has variety of food Which can be changed on demand of students. Hostel allotment process is online and done at the time of admission. Besides hostels are changed every year. If anyone want a room in locality it is easily available. As there is a place named bidhipur near college with 1 km range of college where you can rent rooms and PG.and the price of hostel in the college is 25k per semester. No fee waiver is provided to any category students.

Admission

I applied in top NITs in branches CSE, IT ,ECE and electrical branches. I filled seats of lower branches also. I was getting lower branch in most of the colleges. But I need higher branches so I preferred them. Like NIT SRINAGAR I was getting ECE branch , in NIT Patna and raipur I was getting electrical, in Meghalaya I was getting EEE ( ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING) branch. And some other colleges , I don't recall as counselling was about 2 years ago. The college i choose was NIT Jalandhar as it is near my hometown besides i was getting instrumentation branch which is quite good here. So I choose this college. The admission process was smooth as list of documents required for admission process were listed on the college website. On the day of admission, process was completed in just 2 hours . Then the hostel allotment process started which was also completed easily through online portal. The eligibility exam is JEE and counselling is done by JOSAA.

Faculty

4

The faculty to students ratio is 1:22. Most of the faculties are engaging with students. Student can call them at any time for their issues. They guide us about the scopes which student can have after college like government exams , higher studies etc. 2 exams are conducted every sem - Mid Sem and End sem. Besides some quizes are also conducted few days before exams. Exams difficulty level is moderate. But a fewer faculties have mindset of setting of such papers in which more students get supplementary. They are just few such teachers. Besides it everyone are good.

Night Life

3

In first year there are restriction on hostel timing. Student are not allowed to roam outside hostel after 10pm. But for further year student , no restriction are there for boys. Girl student have to enter hostel premises before 10pm. There is a gym in campus which has timing for each year differently. Canteen are numerous. Domino is available inside the campus. Late night canteen are also available. Security guard are around at every corner . Besides roaming outside college alone in even daytime is not safe as some theft incident happened here recently. Roaming outside college after night is not permitted. Campus size is moderate. I don't have any favourite hangout place inside college except my friend room. But outside college , Jalandhar City is nearby , where several malls and cinema are available.

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
