Manipal:An Enriching Experience

The institution had student projects which were like an extracurricular activity, and they had different departments for mechanical electrical and management. The student projects helped in get real-life hands-on experience of what we are studying in the class in my department, my faculty focused on real-life teaching that Is we had to write scripts and we had to make short films etc. The exam frequency and timing were the negative part year because throughout the entire semester, we had exams every week one assignment in one session following up with a fest every semester leading to academic pressure sometimes.

Intersship opportunities in the college are not that great, it is usually what students do from their end.Placement is where the studnts are supported,but the students are given opportunity to research with the professor or PHD students and also with Coursera membership.

And top companies like Microsoft, Google, Mercedes-Benz, Flipkart, Deloitte, etc visit the campus for the placement and offer some companies that starts with a written test and the students qualifying the written test can go for the interview and the highest package received in our college was somewhere around 42,00,00 per annum least being somewhere around 3 to 4,00,00 per annum students from the computer science department, information technology, Mechatronics MIT, electrical and communication are the ones who are selected first for the placement then going to the lower branches. I didn't appear for the placement because I have my plans to go for Masters. Talking in terms of percentage and around 50 to 60% of the students go for their masters and the rest 40 are usually the ones who get internship and placements

There are various ports in the campus that is swimming cricket, football and other indoor games as well. There are multiple student club, clubs and groups on that is based on the department and there is literally club that is leadership club and then there is some student clubs which are basically for innovations like formula, Manipal and solar Manipal..

The hostel provides triple double and single occupancy with AC, a non-AC rooms. For the triple occupancy in the washroom is common for the entire floor and four double and single occupancy. There is attached washroom. The room comes with a study table and chair a cupboard and a bed with mattress. Washroom is well furnished with hot water and cleaning every day. The food is very decent and keeping health in mind. The breakfast is usually a spread of bread,butter and a South Indian North Indian breakfast and lunch and dinner is usually a mix of veg and non-veg with eggs, chicken and fish being served at least thrice every week. The registration process for 1st year is first come first serve and second year onwards it is based on CGPA and every thing is done online. There are multiple apartments ranging from 10,000 to up to 30,000. The hostel option is great. I appeared in the Karnataka CET examination and I got admission. I got offers from a few colleges in Bangalore and Belgaum. I got admission to the management quota that and the fees was somewhere around two lakhs. I choose Manipal over other colleges because of its reputation Manipal holds and coming under top engineering colleges of the country.Karnataka CET or any other state board examination it is very difficult to get in the best colleges in along with this. I also had a few specific creative subjects in mind which only Manipal offered the admission process of the college is their own examination and IIT-JEE mains. The examination pattern follows subjects such as physics, chemistry, maths and English and has 0.25 negative marking and the total examination marks or 800 marks out of which the top scorers usually get into computer science, engineering or alive, information, technology, engineering or the student is allowed to give two attempts and then Best of two is selected for the counselling. The counselling happens in four cities of the country.

The faculty members were amazing. They knew what they were teaching and very helpful during examinations and if a student requires any extra help, they were always ready to help. The course structure was basically into eight semesters being the first semester was same for all the branches checked from the second semester onwards we had to go to our respective departments in which the seventh semester was completely electives and each semester was the graduation project. The examination pattern was first sessionals which were 15 marks each and four assignments five marks each following a by the final examination which was 50 marks totalling up to 100 and the passing marks for the examination was related grading and the minimum for passing for the final examination was 18 marks. If we failed to pass during the regular exam we had a really exam which was scheduled in the same month or later. The best faculty in my department was Nithesh Sir Pranav Sir and also my HOD Amritraj Sir divorce be ready to help us starting from getting admission till the graduation project and they are still in contact with us. Keeping us updated on what's going on and we keep them updated on where we are in life right now. The exam level is is it not super difficult but usually there are certain subjects like electrical engineering in the first year vegetables usually appear in the re-examination. It is university town where there are food options from Asian to Continental and from budget friendly to high-end available within a radius of 3 km. Apart from this, there are nightclubs and Manipal is very safe. The hostel timing is generally 11:30 from 2nd year & First Year is being 10 PM. There are Sunrise point like end point Manipal,Manipal Lake and other than that with the distance of 95km agumbe and Kudlu falls. The library closes at 10 PM with three floors dedicated only for studying and one floor for the books area and along with this there are multiple gyms in the campus and there is Marena which is the almost 7 floor sports complex having sports from swimming to be a jogging track tennis, badminton, basketball etc. The gym in the campus is absolutely free but Marena the annual membership fee is 12,000 wherein the student can use any play any sport or use the gym11:30 PM at night and opens at 5 AM in the morning.
