Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is outdated to be very honest. It needs to be changed as soon as possible. Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi need to change their curriculum as soon as possible because in the era of Artificial intelligence we are lagging behind and this traditional syllabus need to be scraped out and make from scratch from industry experts. Curriculum should industry relevant, that what is the current demand in the industry.
Fees and Financial Aid
My fees 250000/ per year . And development fees was 700000 . Hostel fees is 1200000. So total fees is 2200000 for the entire course . My batchmates fees is also the same as mine . No scholarships are provided.
Campus Life
Spardha and aura the two major events which will be taking place in the month of November. One is the sports event (spardha) and the other one is cultural event ( aura) . You can only take two books at a time and within 10days either you've to reissue it or return otherwise 1 rupees per day is the fine per book . One projector is there in the classroom which also sometimes doesn't work properly and starts lagging. You have a ground you can play football , cricket , basketball, table tennis. , badminton, volley ball . Yes there are various coding , non coding clubs in the college. Some are hacker earth, coding ninjas, mindspark , ieee student chapter,
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are way too much costlier. For a two sharing it costs around 1.80 k and for single sharing 1.90 k also there food is average. Not that much great to be appreciated. Hostels charges are quite high which makes it less affordable
Admission
I got confirmed admission in SRM institute of science and technology, chennai ( kattankulathur campus) and kalinga institute of industrial technology, bhubaneswar. Because of high fees and more crowd i rejected these colleges. No , i didn't got any rejection from any other college Comedk is the exam for all in students to get into this college , also there is state level exams kcet only domicile of Karnataka ( Karnataka students). Cutoffs vary year to year. Average cutoff is 14k ~22k ish around
Faculty
Faculties to students ratio is like 1:70 . They are not much approachable but some are. Chithra mam , electrical engineering teacher is a good person. She teaches well , the only faculty i liked yet. Valarmathi mam the mathematics teacher, she only knows what she teach. Maths needs good teachers. Exams are outdated syllabus they follow , those chemistry and all , which is not required in any way for a computer Science student. Curriculum need to be changed. College is not autonomous. VTU is bad.
Night Life
Gym is there . Average basic equipments are available Cafeterias is there you can pay and eat there . But the price is quite high. Library are opened from 8am in the morning to 10pm in the night Hostel is very strict , 9pm the hostel gate closes. Kormangala is a place to visit but it is far away . Yeah the locality is safe to roam around at night
