Likes
- I first thing that I like the most about my college is the atmosphere and the campus. Our college has a big campus.
- The another thing I like the library of our college. They have a good collection of books. Apart from this , the auditorium are good enough.
- And They provide good food to us. The college cafeteria and canteen is good , we get all type of foods there. The washrooms are clean and the water supply is good
Dislikes
- I don't like some specific subject faculty members . They need to be improved. Sometimes we don't understand what they're trying to teach and we miss some topics
- In summer, it is very tough for us to do class in such a hot weather. We don't have AC in our classrooms. We will be grateful if they make all the classrooms air conditioned.
- There is a noticeable difference between the faculty suggestion for semester and the question. They take too much exams which is not necessary as per my perspective. Because we don't get enough time to study properly for examinations
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in computer based engineering from my school days so I opted this course. It is on the way to prepare me for the real world applications and it will surely help me for further academic pursuits. They should reduce the number of examination and instead of that they should give students time to prepare for semester exams. The teaching is mainly ppt based so it becomes difficult for some students. They take exams so frequently and sometimes they even fail to cover the given syllabus but still they take exams and give questions from the topics which is not taught in the classroom. So these points need to be improved
Internships Opportunities
Currently I'm in the first year so I don't know much about the internships. But Wipro , infosys and other companies provide internships to the students. After the course students are offered projects to work on and gain experience
Placement Experience
From End semester examination or in the 4th year they become eligible for campus placement. Companies like - TCS , WIPRO , INFOSYS, ACCENTURE , IBM , CAPGEMINI, COGNIZANT etc companies visit every year. Highest package offered was 72 LPA and average package is 8 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the Btech course we have to pay 7 lakhs 85 thousand in total course of 4 years. There's no tuition fees and a minimum rate is taken for lab fees. I belong to general category so I don't have any idea about SC and ST category. It being a autonomous college the fees structure for all categories are same. Yes , there are some scholarship for students if they can maintain a good CGPA as per merit of the student. But I exactly don't know the names or the amounts of the scholarships.
Campus Life
Events like Smart makers festival , Escashia etc and annual sport and culture events occur. There's is a good number of availability of books and journals. We have a basement where students can play all types of games and a basketball ground for playing basketball
Admission
I didn't apply to any other college. I choose it because I thought it will be good for me. No I didn't get any rejection from any other college A student can get admission through IEMJEE and WBJEE examination
Faculty
There is enough faculty for the students. Some faculty has good relationship with students and some are very professional. I like Arpan Maiti , the member of physics faculty and Aritra Ghosh , the member of Basic electrical engineering faculty. I don't like programming language faculty member. They need to be improved. We don't understand what they teach so it becomes tough for us to perform well to that corresponding subject in the semester examination. The exams that they take is not that easy. They make standard question paper . There's is a small number of students who fail to clear the exams. The course is relevant enough.
Night Life
Our college ends at 5 pm. The cafeteria, public area closes around 6 pm. I don't have any idea about hostel of our college. The campus timings are 9:30 am to 5 pm. There is a cafeteria outside of our college where students can go. The area of our college is safe at night too.
