Course Curriculum Overview

3

I am a tech-enthusiast and chip designing is something i have been keen to know about and hence i went in for ECE Course. The curriculum is just same as the other engineering colleges. Detailed enough to pass the semester end exams. Teaching methods and the equipments need to be changed. Its high time. While other colleges are using well designed new technologies for lab experiments, ours is still stuck on the old methods which is very frustrating as we dont receive accurate results that affects our performance.

Internships Opportunities

3

I am in my 3rd year now and so far we had only 2 workshops not even one internship. ( the first workshop was from a company called mevi technologies and the other is a 5 day training program from IBM skill build) We are doing our first mini project for our course now

Fees and Financial Aid

The year-wise fees i pay is 98984 rupees (throught kcet). They take 5000 rupees extra on the name of placements which are only 10 percent sure as per our seniors. Since the college is affiliated to vtu, as and when different courses are availabale (eg: minor or honours degree) the college makes it compulsory for all the eligible students to apply which costed me another 2020 rupees. The college does not provide any sort of scholarships.

Campus Life

1

The annual fest is called "Brin-waves" which are usually held in the mid-year. There are only limited number of important books and a lot of irrelevant books available in the library. The library even has computers for students to use which never work. And they dont provide students wi-fi as well. Facilities are really bad in the college. The student literally cant breathe anywhere. If a student has free time they cannot sit in the canteen or in the lawn except during break hours. The securities come and asks us to move out even if we are eating !! They ask us to go to the library during free hours. And in library we cannot sit without doing anything or cant even lie down on the desk simply to take a break.

Admission

I had applied to many other colleges like new horizon, cmrit, ramaiah institute and many more through cet counselling. I didnt receive any conformation from other colleges because i had applied pretty late and seats were almost full The admission process was really a bad experience. The people managing the admission process were really rude to my parents. (Just because we missed one document)

Faculty

3

7 out of 10 faculties are knowledgeable. The rest are least bothered about the students' performamce. If they are not able to finish the portions they put the entire work on students to make a presentation on different topics of each module and learn it ourselves. On the other hand some teachers are only worried about assignment submissions and internals. They dont care if the student has learnt anything or not. There are 3 internals ( one internal each month) and its pretty easy because the teachers provide the questions staright from the question paper prior to the exam.

Night Life

2

Cafeterias have a staple menu for everyday. Other than this there are 2 more cafeteria. One is like a bakery and the other is like a small cafe which is not worth it. The food doesnt taste up to the mark for what we are paying. I am not a hostel student. But all i have heard from my hostelite friends are bad experiences. There are many good hangout places outside the college. Because inside the college we really cannot "hangout"

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
