Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have always been a biology student so choosing zoology was normal to me , the curriculum is really wide and covers all expect especially after introduction of NEP , we generally have 3 core papers then a GE (General Elective) a SEC and a VAC with AEC. From 3rd year onwards we have 3 Core , 1 GE , 1DSE and 1 SEC course Exams morally happens after 4 months but internal goes on all through the semester . The difficulty level is okay not very tough just decent . And papers are all from what is taught. Here GE - general elective SEC - Skill enhancement course VAC - value addition course DSE - Discipline specific elective

Internships Opportunities

3

Placement cell of society brings various companies offering internship opportunities like internshala , HCL , and other corporate companies also , with various starups or MSMEs taking keen interest. There are internship opportunities available that is not an issue

Campus Life

3

Campus life is vibrant and filled with opportunities to connect with diverse groups of people. Students engage in a variety of events, festivals, and day-to-day interactions that foster strong friendships and professional network The campus library is well-stocked with a wide range of resources, including: Journals , books magazines Annual fest - Aadab is held every year around January with stellar performances Sports facilities are not really upto mark , with ground not in optimum condition and next to nothing in case of indoor facilites Student politics is definitely there because of centralized Delhi university elections , students run social groups to help fellow students too Along with that there are various societies in college like Classical dance society , western dance society , quizzing club , debating club , literary review group , model United Nations society

Admission

I applied for colleges in Delhi university after CUET exam , selected a preference list , my current college was 3rd on the list for me as for science courses this is considered a very good college , only Hansraj College and Venky was ahead of it in my list , couldn't make cut off of that so got admission into this college which turned out to be a good decision for me Admission process - Admission are through CUET UG exam , after which counselling happens throught a centralised Delhi University portal. For CUET anything above 500 marks should be enough for getting admission in colleges

Faculty

5

All the teachers are PhD holders with great experience in zoology department teachers have on average 10-15 years of experience and multiple research papers under their name. The teacher to student ratio is also decent , we have a class of 40 students which makes it easy for teacher too and we can interact with them as freely as we want without any hesitation, their nature is also friendly In zoology department all the teachers are learned few of those whom I like and are best are Dr. Amitabh Mathur - friendly nature , engaging teacher making every lesson entertaining Dr. Ragesh PR - super knowledgeable and easily approachable , also very experienced Dr. Ankur maheshwari - experienced and very friendly nature with students

Night Life

1

Hostel is not available as my college is a day college and it's off campus not located in university campus so that's why night life for students depends on their individual plans . Although the area is generally safe and good so that is never an issue

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.

The average placements is around 5 to 6 lpa. However, a lot students here prefer masters and so a very few take placements, we have a entreprenuerial lab here which allows students to start their own startups and a lot of companies do visit in campus and hire students also. However, my plans would be pursuing for post grad entrance exams if I did'nt get placement.
