Course Curriculum Overview

5

I always had a knack of physical geography and I was always into technologies used to know about the earth. Geography is a never ending subject. It is always evolving. There are facts that already exists and there are facts that always changed, therefore, it is a subject where you can study about the place you are living in. It is interrelated to all the other subjects in all matters. However, instead of just theoretical part of the curriculum, I believe the officials should introduce more practical means of teaching because I personally think that students will be more interested to learn while they practically get involved and learn about it rather than just sitting in a classroom and stare at random PPTs.

Internships Opportunities

5

There is a placement and internship cell for the students and various different companies come with different opportunities. There are different community outreach projects like Project Dhyan and Project Noor present for students to take part in. Some internships are free whereas some provide performance based stipend. However, I believe every student should atleast do 2-3 free internship for better experience which will definitely help later on.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placements starts from the fifth semester, that is from the last year of the course. Different companies like Delloite, IBM, etc visits for placement opportunities and as far as I knew, the lowest CTC in the year 2022 was around 6lakhs per annum. I did my post-graduation later on so I never went through the placement process.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees here is comparatively higher than other DU colleges. However, since the subject Geography has a lot of practical work, extra fees are included here. The first year, I paid around ?37000 and for 3 years it was almost similar to this. All other fees are included here however examination fees are excluded which is around ?800-?1000 every semester. Different aids and scholarships are available and whoever meets the criteria can avail for it anytime.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is amazing and it is an all girls college so the vibe is different here. I could physically enjoy the college life for only 2 semester (Covid-19) batch here!. There are different social clubs, different Fellowship opportunities are also available. I suggest that whoever gets into IPCW should take advantage of all the opportunities given because the options are amazing and one should enjoy their fullest during this time.

Admission

This college was the first college I applied to. I was fortunate enough to get through it in the first list itself. However, I also got into Miranada House, another prestigious college but I didn't take admission there because of some personal reasons. Moreover, there were a lot of seniors and alumnis with whom I was personally familiar with so I didn't try anywhere else later. During 2019, the admission process was strictly merit based. Cutoff lists are being rolled out every 2 days and whatever marks we get in our 12th Board exams, it is totally based on that. However, now to get admitted, everyone needs to give the CUET UG examination, which is an entrance exam and whatever marks you get decides your faith. After you clear the cutoff, the admission process is quite smooth.

Faculty

3

I did my UG from 2019-2022. There were 6 faculty members and all of them were individually very talented. However, there were times where the student-professor relationship was not up to the mark or not that good but all in all it was a good experience. My favourite faculty was Sonali Ma'am. She is amazing. She is not just a great teacher but also an amazing mentor. I never had great relationship with a professor named Ayanika, since she was always favouring a few students. Personally, I never liked her way of teaching and it differs from one person to another. I had 6 semesters so I had to give 6 semesters exams and a midterm and an assignment each semester. As much as I remember, all of the students cleared all their exams because no matter what, the knowledge gained throughout was always up to the mark.

Night Life

5

I was not a hostel kid. I used to live a bit far from the campus. But there is a gymnasium, swimming pool, basketball court, tennis court, 2 story library with lift facility available all inside the campus. The cafeteria here is also amazing and so affordable. The momo here is lipsmacking! I remember the curfew timing used to be 7-8PM for the hostel kids but it might be different now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

British classics, Indian writing, postcolonial literature builds a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical thinking, and interpretation, which are useful skills. As for comprehensiveness, the curriculum is quite broad. It covers multiple literary periods, genres, and critical theories over the three years, so you’re not really missing out on the essentials. In that sense, it feels academically complete. But sometimes, it leans more towards breadth over depth you move quickly from one topic to another.

There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The curriculum was overall good and being a economics honours courses it was challenging at times. The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
