Different subject for 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 semester and for 8th semester there is only practicals so that cadet are well trained before joining onboard ship.college also allow cadets to go onboard ship after completion of 8 semester.

Our college provides lots of internship offers for cadet of 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th year cadets during semester break .cadets can visits many ports to understand and see what is the current condition of cadets after joining ship.INS Shivagi is also provide internship for the cadets for imu kolkata

Placement scenario of this college is very good .approximately 95 percent cadets got placed before completion of the course.companies like Chevron ,WSM ,NYK Line ,Fleet management , Torm Tanker ,Pacific Basin ,MOL ,Maersk ,MSC ,goodwood ship, Scorpio tankers ,Dynagas ,SHELL,etc are the permanent recruiter of this college.

The annual fees of imu kolkata campus for btech in Marine engineering is 275000.there are so many scholarship is provided by college according to their residential states .there is no any fee concession for any catagory fees will same for every catagory.

Campus life is the most beautiful and memorable thing for everyone in their college. In our campus we celebrate lots of festivals including hindu festivals and all festival of all the other religions. We have our own college event like tempest, lithosphere, college foundation day etc.

As we talk about hostel facility our opinion is good .for 1st year hostel 6 cadets are accommodated in large single room,for 2nd year hostel 2 cadets are accommodated .for 3rd year hostel 3 cadets are accommodated.and for 4th year cadets personal room are alloted.

As we know this college is known for excellence of marine engineering because it is the oldest college for marine engineering.as compare compare to other college IMU KOLKATA had best alumni connection and this college has oldest and well maintained marine workshop which make this college different from other.

Faculty member are well trained with teaching experience .they also support us and guide us in other career related doubt .there are 8 semester for btech in marine engineering.marking scheme is average marking añd exam system is also good they provide academic calander before start of course and they strictly followed the calendar.

We got separate gym for every year cadets.All the gym equipment are there in the gym.We got a common cafeteria for every year cadets. For faculty members separate cantine is available.In campus library approximately 5000 bookes are available.
