What Students Say?
Likes
- Good teaching, especially for automobile branch it has got the best professors who are so cooperative and kind enough to solve the doubts patiently until the concepts are clear.
- Good labs for practical demonstration. Especially in automotive engines lab, toyota has provided one setup for one of the experience.
Dislikes
- Nothing as such. Nearing to end of Semester 1 and there's nothing as of now which I dislike.
- No dislikes as of now, will have to experiment more time here.
Course Curriculum Overview
For automobile it's actually well made syllabus, as it's also reviewed by Volvo company. So you can imagine the authenticity of the curriculum. If you actually pay attention to lectures and follow the class notes, it's more than enough for the students to score.
Internships Opportunities
Companies which come regularly every year is Tata Motors, Volvo, Kirloskar Toyota. At times even Honda and Mahindra come for the internships. But not only in campus internship, students can even look for offline internship. It's not limited to in campus internship.
Placement Experience
For MTech students, first year consists of two semesters. From the second year, internship opportunities and companies start to come in the campus. So mostly if you get internship, it'll get converted into full time jobs upon your performance. End year placements also happens but it's quite dicey. So if you want to grab the opportunity then internship is the thing. Apart from internship there are PHD options as well as 1+1 program.
Fees and Financial Aid
I've opted for MTech Automobile Engineering, tution fee is 3,60,000. And overall adding the facilities it sums up to almost 4,00,000 per year. So for 2 years of MTech, it adds up to 8,00,000. If you go for hostel, then it depends upon the type of rooms you're opting for.
Campus Life
Everything is quite balanced. The events, clubs and infrastructure, everything is top notch. But for master students they hardly get time to participate in any of this as time flies because everything is so occupied.
Admission
Mainly for their syllabus for MTech Automobile Engineering. As it covers almost everything which is required in terms of subjects. And also they have CAD labs which consists of CATIA, MATLAB etc to learn simultaneously along your course to brush up the skills.
Faculty
Faculty student relationship is quite good. They conduct mid term exam which is more like a unit term exam of 30 marks along with 20 marks assignment respectively for each subject of your course. And finally they have end semester exams which is of 50 marks. For passing, criteria is to get 40 marks out of overall 100 marks for each subject.
Interview Experience
No. All these things are not into consideration during admission. You just need to write the MET entrance exam, wait for your rank and submit the necessary documents after joining your desired course.
Night Life
Haven't discovered night life as much as of now personally. But some of my friends who live in hostel they appreciate the nightlife, it's quite safe and happening at the same time. Especially for girls it's much safer as the wardens and security guards are present at each hostel, gate etc.
