Course Curriculum Overview
Since I was very fond of Cooking I chose this Course. And I found WGSHA is one of the best colleges for culinary arts hence applied here. We have one of the best faculty teams here. The faculties are very experienced in their field. We had 6 semesters and 12 internals. Exams were moderately easy to pass.
Placement Experience
Our college does provide placement. Big Companies like ITC, Marriott, Taj, Oberoi etc. come in and conduct interviews to select suitable candidates. And they provide a good salary as well. The average salary can be between 20 - 25 lakhs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
For the 3-year course, we had around 9 lacs as fees. And if you are staying in a hostel that costs separate. I did not avail of any scholarships from the college but I had availed a scholarship from the Karnataka government. You can avail of scholarships depending on your background.
Campus Life
The major event is the 5-day event conducted by MAHE annually. Then we do have an annual food fest. All the colleges under the Manipal group participated in this event. We have a library with around 14000 books. We have different clubs in our university which we can join and have a lot of fun around the campus.
Admission
Anyone who passes 12th grade or equivalent from a recognised board is eligible to apply for BA in Culinary arts. The application form can be found on the online website of MAHE/ WGSHA. We had a written test followed by a group discussion and interview. Anyone who qualifies for all three is eligible.
