I think it's our college infrastructure. We have a big campus area almost 75 acres. But our college is not totally cleaned.
I join KGEC alumni calling process and I did this . I am very happy for that.
All the teachers of our college are highly qualified with PhD degree. Teaching skills of every teacher is unique.

Dislikes

Campus is not clean properly of our college.
College need more workshops teacher in our college.
I think we need more buildings in our college.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are many career opportunities in this branch and the average placement of our branch is very good. It's 8.5 lpa . Our college is under Maulna Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKUT). Our curriculum is very strict.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 4000 per year

Placement Experience

From 7 th semester all the 4th year students are eligible for placement. Almost 50 companies come in our college for hiring examples Wipro, TCS, Cognizant etc. Percentage of getting placed is almost 80 of all branch. I want to do Mtech form top IITS.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college fees have to pay semester basics. My branch semester fees is around 4000 rupees. Those who got 60 percentage above in West Bengal Board, they get 60000 per year. The tution fees is 3000 per semester. With lab fees, development fees etc it's stand 4000 rupees per semester. It's pure government engineering college so there is no management fees. All the students of our mechanical engineering branch pay same amount as me. Every year Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship provide 60000 rupees.

Campus Life

Campus Life is going to be one of best moment in my life. We have a central library. There are many books in our central library. Our lacture hall are up to date . There are a sports club named SPORTIX. SPORTIX is very active club.

Hostel Facilities

Our hostel room is very good. Four students are allotted in a single room for living. Our hostel name is VIDYASAGAR CHHATRAVAS. The hostel are very beautiful. There are a badminton court, volley court, football ground in our hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 24000 per year

Admission

I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination in 2024. I scored a decent rank but due to high cut off of this year I didn't get good branch in Jadavpur University. I will get Jadavpur University printing engineering but I didn't choose. Our college KGEC is in 2nd rank in terms of all benefits. So without any hesitation i choose Kalyani Government Engineering College Mechanical Engineering Department.

Faculty

There are 64 students and 15 faculty members in Mechanical Engineering Department in our college. So it's really very good. They are very good,friendly in nature. I like most the math teacher Mrinmoy Sir.

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

To get admitted to this college, you will have to take the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam. To get admission in this college you have to score well in this exam.
