Likes
- It's famous for its return of investment. Actually people says Jadavpur has better ROI than many IITs. You can grab great placement though giving just 12k fees.
- Jadavpur University located at the main kolkata town , so it's accessible for transportation and also we have Jadavpur station that is just beside the university. Also the campus is fully greenery everywhere and calm to visit.
- As it's a university you can meet across different types of people, some may be from arts, general sciences, literature or some may be PhD scholar, researcher. You can build a great connections to different sectors with the university itself.
Dislikes
- Honestly saying nothing there to unlike about the university in such a cheap cost and great roi . But our infrastructure isn't too good to compete with the world class universities. There aren't AC in classrooms and the benchs are also old and broken
- You don't get a good girls to boys ratio in the engineering departments . Actually there aren't any kind of reservations for girls in our university. Our sex ratio is up . It's like 10:1 or even much in some branches.
Course Curriculum Overview
As a mechanical engineering students I can only state about the mechanical department. Jadavpur University has the best mechanical lab all around the Asia . Also the course is too much relevant for job aspects.
Internships Opportunities
If you are a student of cse or it you can grab a high stipend internship. Also if you are from core branches you can get a decent internship with a good stipend. Many times this internships transfer into pre placement offers.
Placement Experience
Placements is the main focus of our college. In some core branches the b placements percentage goes upto 95% and with a median package of 10lpa . And in cse or it the median package goes to 23 lpa or above. Also the highest package of this year is 1.2 cpa .
Fees and Financial Aid
Jadavpur University is a state funded university, so it's fees is barely negligible. Our four years engineering course overall costs around 12k. Actually we got Jadavpur University through WBJEE exam and it's the top college of wbjee. Also it has a huge amount of home state quota as it's funded by state government. Though the fee is bare minimum our university and govt provides different type of scholarship also. Whose family income is less than 2.5lakhs per annum they get a scholarship named SVMCM of 60k per year. And I don't think there are any case of caste grading for fees due to it's negligible amount. Also our alumni base funds scholarship for needy and meritorious students.
Campus Life
As it's a university it has a great campus life. Where you can enjoy fests with peoples of different ambitions and goals . We have different kind of fests like srijan , sanskriti etc. Here management organised different kind of events and competition.
Admission
Actually I haven't applied for any other college because it's my dream to study here. If I wouldn't get here probably I would take a drop year to prepare better. You will not get any better college with such a great placement in a such negligible fees.
Faculty
We have a good faculty student ratio as compared to other colleges. It's lies upon 5:1 depending upon branches. Also we shares all of our doubts and problems with the faculties. I like our hod most as he's so much helpfull. Jadavpur University has absolute grading so here marks gaining is quite hard . Barely some of the students get the hight cgpa
