Dislikes
- Hectic Schedule. There is a very hectic schedule here. Frequent labs as well as exams dont give us much free time. This makes the entire schedule very hectic
Course Curriculum Overview
Giving us more amount of labs made me realise that this course offers more hands on experience than just lecture notes. The classes taken here mainly focuses on hands on learning. The curriculum helps in understanding hands on experiences. As of now, the curriculum can be more inclined towards research applications.. The frequency of exams are quite moderate but the vast topics makes it harder to to prepare on time for the examinations.
Fees and Financial Aid
We are supposed to pay first and second year fees of 1,90,000 and 2,10,000 for the third and fourth year. I have not paid any extra fees other than this except for my minors course and other elective courses. there are no category fees as per my knowledge in this campus and only one fee structure has been used for my course. Scholarships vary each year. They provide scholarships from internet fees, hostel/food fees to 10000-20000 reduction in fees.
Campus Life
There are two main programs here in Christ. Bhasha Utsav only for christ students and Magnovite for other colleges as well. The clubs such as SWO, IEEE and other research/ Management clubs here helps in building a base for students even before graduation. This has helped me to learn a lot and meet with different people. The infrastructure here is top notch compared to other colleges who ranks way above us.
Admission
I wanted more exposure since Bangalore is known for being a tech hub. I chose this college over other colleges. I had written examinations but didn't move on further because I got accepted here, I was accepted into VIT, Vellore but I didn't receive ECE as my course and it was quite expensive. Here we are supposed to take an aptitude test, and then have an interview where they test our technical and presentation skills.
Faculty
Faculties in Christ University are well educated and proffesionals in their feilds. Some were posted in dream companies and then switched over to teaching. All these faculties gives us guidlines as of how to network with other people and make oppurtuinities for yourself. The best faculties I liked were Dr, Reghu VR, Dr. Parvathy Ramaswamy, Dr Sunitha VR, Dr Benson K Money as they are all my guides in my research clubs. They helped me a lot in working in a research lab and producing a research paper. We have 3 Contionous Internal assesments and one End Semester Exam in each Sem. About 60-70 percent of the students clear these exams and the exams are quite in line with the curiculum.
Other Applied Colleges
Lovely Professional University - [LPU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
Its too expensive.
