Course Curriculum Overview

3

the classes are taken regularly in preclinical and paraclinical subject and some of clinical subjects as well. these are slidepresentation, demonstration and group discussions. there is great learning opportunities. case discusions are done in clinical postings. integrated leaning is not much practiced and would be drawback. library timings are not suitable at all.

Internships Opportunities

4

internship is good. you get lot of hand on experience. you become confident in treating and get to do many procedure under supervision. some departments are draining to work and hectic. you would get some quality time to study for NEET PG too. post graduates help you to learn better.

Fees and Financial Aid

fees per year was 50000 plus university fee around 10000 and college extra expenses like sports library welfare fund etc amounting a total of 65000 per year (as of 2018). recently govt increased tuition fee and so total amount would be 75000 around for year 2025. for reserved category under state quota if fulfilled, fee amount would be refunded. scholarships are avilable for aplicable canditates. the amount for completing the course would be around 3,50,000 for college fees of 4.5 years. hostel fee is 1000 per month amounting to 12000 per year. caution deposit of 24000 for hostel. mess fee depends on students. may be around 3500-4000 per month.

Campus Life

5

many festivals and events are celebrated which are organised by student organisations. there is annual sport event in addition to many other local sports events. student councill and clubs are active. good social life and the institute is close to goa for fun weekend loving people. books are available in library for borrowing. outer reading rooms are there. though e-library is there, not available for students. library has bad timings and closed on holidays. study rooms are avilable in hostels too.

Hostel Facilities

2

hostel rent is 1000 per month including electricity and water. wardrobe and beds and tables provided. though hot water facility avilable during our times its not maintained well as of now. as told it rains heavily and find fungus everywhere during rain. countable amount of room has no issue of water leak in rain. everywhere you see water leaking even from walls and floor. hostel condition and maintainance is very poor, you can also opt to stay out of hostel if affordable as renting is costly in locality. mess condition depends on students as its run by them.

Admission

basically if you choose this college, unlike other newly established institutes, this is rapidly developing and has good projects under development already. an oncology department and central ICU is under construction. most departments already has passed out postgraduates. many students have joined central intitutes for higher studies. plus the environment it is situated is uncomparable to any other institute.

Faculty

4

most department is great at teaching. there are lot of staff keen to teach more. while some department lack staffings and hence learning depends solely on you. most of the professors are approchable easily.models are avilable in skill labs to improve clinical skills. since the college has post graduation courses, the learning opportunity is more as more cases as admitted, treted and operated and discussed well in rounds. exams are conducted regularly both to check your theoritical knowledge and clinical skills. passing them are hard but it makes you fit for university exams.

Interview Experience

5

the admission is based on score and rank obtained in NEET UG. one can expect admission under 10000 rank through all india counselling or under 35000 in state counselling for general category. there is no seperate interview or written test . one should be eligle under NEET UG entrance exam and have rank desirable for admission .

Night Life

5

gym with equipment is avilable in campus building itself. you can avail subscription of outside gyms too.cafetaria is available in main building and smalls shops outside hospital. main city is close to campus and has all basic needs available. not much of high range city. hostel timing closes at 9 pm for girls and though same is applicable for boys is rarely followed. there are plenty of spots to visit as it lies very close to mountains. lots of waterfalls, viewpoints, gardens, rivers, beaches, water activities, naval ship museum so more. not to forget goa just 10km away. locality is totally safe to everyone.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year
