Course Curriculum Overview

5

The latest curriculum is good and easy for students . I dreamt of becoming a doctor and thus achieved through my parents support and my hardwork(cracking NEET) So course is of 4.5yrs + 1yr of internship total 5.5yrs You get 30000/month as stipend for 1year internship

Internships Opportunities

5

MBBS internship is of 1year where U get to work in all the departments and also have 1month periphery to the phcs of surrounding villages. You get the Stipend of 30000 /month for 1year. The internship teaches us how to become a perfect and respected doctor in the society. It also teaches the values and struggle of what a DOCTOR is

Fees and Financial Aid

So for the current year new admission of 2025 the fees is around 65000 for tuition fees per year. Then for Hostel the fees is 24000 it covers only rent and electricity and water bills. And they also charge a caution deposit of 24000 which as per them will be returned after the course completion. So the above mentioned tuition fee of 65000 is for General Category students the fees for sc and st category is less abt 750 as per state quota. Hostel fees is same for all. The state scholarships known as ssp is available for students in Karnataka where they get abt 60000/year It is for the obc and sc st students whose income is less than 8lakhs.

Campus Life

5

Generally the Annual Day (Culturals) is held around October and November, merging with Karnataka Rajyostsava Celebrations. Also Sports are conducted in around months of May. Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with togetherness and very grand. The campus doesn't have its own Ground for sports . But includes a gym with membership of abt?500/year.And few indoor sports like basketball , chess , carrom are available. There are few grounds around campus where we can go and play outdoor. We generally go to beach and have certain spots to play cricket.

Hostel Facilities

4

•Room is shared by three people only basic facilities like electricity and water are available. •No special facilities like washing machine , wifi , lift are present. •The meals are provided like Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner which are edible but not tasty. •Registration for Hostel is easy just give the DDs of hostel fees for the warden on the allocating date and get ur room.

Admission

I chose this college as per my ranking in neet exam. I could get better colleges but I was mesmerised by beaches the climate and its vicinity to Goa. I applied for colleges like Belagavi Insitute of Medical Science, Hubli KIMS , Bellary VIMS for which the cutoff was high hence in available options chose KRIMS,Karwar disregarding Gulbarga(GIMS), Raichur(RIMS). So eligibility exam for MBBS is offcourse NEET U need less than 7k rank through AIQ. And less than 45k rank for state quota.

Faculty

5

The total college is 150 MBBS students per year. Which comprises of 15% AIQ and 85% State Quota. The students should know the local language which is kannada to interact with the patients if from other state should learn in first year just normal conversation. So there are adequate no of faculties in all departments and are very friendly and helpful . They teach very well and make us to understamd all the concepts. My and everyones favourite faculty were Dr.N.S.Muniyappanavar sir from physiology department. There are 3 internal exams where your aggregate marks should be 50% including both theory and practicals for getting eligibility ti write your annual exams.

Night Life

4

•Karwar is a small town hence no night life u can just go for rides. •Gyms are available in the city and also one in college. •Hostel Timings are strict for Girls which closing time us around 9:00pm at night. •Hostel timings is same for Boys but We are not strict we are allowed any time. •Few famous spots around the karwar are Waterfalls (abt 6-10in numbers. •U can literally go to Goa??????? every weekend for enjoyment (be careful ????????)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS- passion and internal will power plays an important role in choosing this course. PASSION- because it is a noble job to do and satisfaction in this course is unmatchable because of patients interaction. WILL POWER- you may find this course hectic and the course duration is of 5.5 yesrs so it lengthy and you have to study a lot in this course. EXAMINATION - examination are little hectic and challenging but it can be achieveable.
