Course Curriculum Overview

3

Curriculum is based on practical scenarios and very relevant since doctors need to understand real life scenarios inorder to treat patients. Curriculum includes OSCE and certified skills that prepare students to become good doctors. More individual attention and skill development can help students understand topics and mould into good clinicians.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship to be done in the same hospital as college. Duration of internship is 1 year. Stipend offered is 10 thousand rupees. Tasks given include patient registration, guiding patients to particular departments, filling forms for relevant investigations, monitoring patient vitals, OPD duty, assisting in surgeries etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fee for govt seat is 1,52,000 While for private seat it is 9,82,326 This was when I joined back in 2020 Now yearly fee for govt seat is around 2lakhs And for private seat it is around 11lakhs First year, while joining, extra fees of 45k should be paid for maintainance, skill labs, library etc Scholarships: If you belong to OBC category and have secured a govt seat, u can avail scholarship on ssp portal Same applies for SC ST category.

Campus Life

4

Vydehi organises college fest every year that includes sports and cultural activities. It improves leadership, teamspirit in students, helps in making new friends and getting to know eachother, showcasing talent and acts as mode of relaxation. Library in vydehi is huge, well organised offering good amount of books for UGs, PGs , super speciality and competitive exams too. It has good seating and ambience is great. Student run groups include AMSA, Mediculture, GAIIMS.

Admission

I had applied to BMC, MS Ramaiah, KIMS, Bowring , Akash and Subbaiah. I didn't get into BMC, KIMS, MS Ramaiah and Bowring due to my NEET score. I didn't opt for Subbaiah since it was far from Bangalore and I had to stay in hostel if I went there. I didn't go to Akash because it was a new college back in 2020 with no passed out batches. Vydehi accepts NEET and admission is through KEA. If you have attained eligibility in NEET you can avail a seat in management quota too.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is quite good. Professors are approachable and clear doubts without being annoyed. Student teacher bonding is difficult considering the class strength and their busy schedule My favourite faculties in terms of teaching are: 1st year: Bharath sir- biochemistry 2nd year: I liked many. None in particular 3rd year: Nabeel sir- ENT 4th year: Likitha ma'am - paediatrics Jayshankar sir- Medicine Raviraj sir and som sir- Orthopaedics Ashwini ma'am, Aparna ma'am , Anjali ma'am , Tanvi ma'am for OBG I didn't like a few faculties because they just read slides and did not show interest in teaching. The course duration is 4.5yrs+ 1 yr internship Every year there are 3 internals and 1 university exam. Exams are moderately difficult considering the portions. Theory exams are followed by practicals. Every year 10-20 students fail to clear exams in the first attempt.

Night Life

3

College has beautiful lawn that is picturesque. Indoor sports room has badmittion rackets and shuttle, carrom, TT table, basket ball and many more sports stuff. Hostel has a gym room. Vindoos offers good food and the best food in vindoos is samosa. Around college, there are good restaurants like hyderabadi chefs, essoto etc and malls like park square, nexus shantiniketan etc
