Likes

Good placements up to 85 percent got the placement in different it companies
Faculties are so good and very helpful in our academic curriculum
College lab facility are very good idec is available for research in iot,cloud computing etc

Dislikes

Campus is not large it is only in 3 arces
Get will be closed at 9.30am so you must have to come daily before 9 am
College uniform is necessary so you must have to come college in a proper college dress code

The college faculties are very well the help us on different frontend and backend projects apart from academics college also provided different courses like 7 days bootcamp in python ,Java,iot etc college also provided many certification courses like Coursera and linkedin in free

Placement Experience

The iem provided best placement and internship in Kolkata companies like Deloitte,oracle, Amazon,Adobe,TCS, Infosys, Accenture comes in our college every year the average CTC of iem is 8lpa many students got their package of campus more than 20 lakhs

Fees and Financial Aid

When I got addmission in 2021.The college Semester fee is 70000 per semester but now it is 85000 per semester in many cases college waived the fees for financially weeker student and when you are excellence in the academy

Campus Life

The campus of iem is not large but we alltogether enjoy alot our college have many clubs like coding club in our weekend we like to play baseball in our college campus the coding culture and idec lab inhanced my skill

Admission

The placement cell of iem (tpo) is very active so more than 85% students got their placements before me my cousin pass from 2018 he is working in an mnc with 32 lpa this inspire me alot to got addmission in iem

College faculties are very good they help us on different projects apart from academics In every semester college conduct 2 midsemester exam and one end semester exam total internal marks are 30% and external are 70% college average cgpa is 8.5

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Most unfiltered review of IEM college .

Well other than that I definitely put Techno Main , Heritage Institute of Technology, Jalpaiguri Government, kalyani Government and Haldia Institute of Technology too . But the rank didn't allow me to get my desired branch that is CSE in kalyani and jalpaiguri, so I had to close from the private ones and if you have to pick the best one in Kolkata which was also not far waya from my hometown , definitely you choose IEM , as it definately has a good placement track record and good curriculum. Well you can get into this college through WBJEE(which they didn't took this year ) , IEMJEE and direct admission too . But direct admission requires some extra donation amounts too . So prefer qualifying the exams ....Read More

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college. This college admission procedure takes 2 days 1st admission to the college it will take 6 hours. 2nd makaut registration will take next 4 to 5 hours.
