Remarks

The college needs to stop faking stuff and do real meaningful actions. Since there is no ground in our campus (an off-campus ground is available) we do not get to play in our free time. The teachers need to be educated first so that they can teach as well. And most importantly internet access should be provided at least on lab computers. The only thing I love about this college is its scenic view visible from the college windows.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Mumbai University sets the Course Curriculum, and they renew the syllabus after every 4 years. Being in the Information Technology branch, the syllabus needs to updated to the industrial standards, which it fails to do. We study 4-5 years old technology now. There are 2 unit tests every semester and a final end sem exam after that. The end sem exams are carried out at the university level and the unit test is carried out by our department.

Internships Opportunities

Placements & job opportunities are going through a steady decline across all colleges of Mumbai University. Our college is no exception to this. To give you an example, the highest package giver company came with just Rs 8L/ annum. Because of this many students are applying off-campus. College does not provide internships or encourages doing an internship because doing internships affects the students' lecture attendance.

College Events

3

1) Zodiac: The college's biggest cultural festival. It happens every year at the end of March. It lasts for 2-3 days with various events like dancing, singing, concerts, marathon, competitive events, etc. 2) ICARUS: Its a technical fest of our college. This happens just before the Zodiac. Various tech contests and exhibitions takes place. The main attraction here is RoboWars.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is average when compared to all the engineering colleges in Mumbai. Yearly fees are around 1.1L. It is feasible for many, but because of Freeships and Scholarships by Government of Maharashtra, people get tuition fee waiver making the course feasible for all.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no scholarships offered by the college as such. Government of Maharashtra offers tuition fee waiver scholarships and freeships to backward castes and economically backward community. There is an official procedure that students follow to get the scholarship.

Campus Life

4.5

Sports happen only during the cultural fest. The rest of the days there is no encouragement from the college. The labs in our department are totally outdated. Half the computers do not work and ones which work lag a lot. Often we use our own laptop to carry out experiments. Even being in the Information Technology department we do not have internet access in any of our labs.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were very helpful to get tips and tricks about surviving engineering. Their notes were readily available for us to refer which is a huge boon for our juniors. This is the only good thing about our college, we have a very friendly environment with our seniors and according to them, this has been passed on by their seniors.

Admission

I had appeared for the JEE-Mains entrance exam, through which the engineering admission was going to take place. After clearing the exam, I had to go through CAP rounds and in the 3rd round, I got to select the college from the remaining seats vacant in colleges from across India. I selected this college in that round.

Faculty

3

To be very honest with this question, there are a handful of good professors in our college who teach well and know about their subject. Rest just teach from the slides and do not have knowledge or enthusiasm about the subject. I personally, like interactive learning, which I do not get in my college. There are few extreme cases of professors who teach wrong concepts with confidence, and the worst part is that you cannot argue with them, as they take it personally and it heavily affects our internal marks.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
