Likes

Panjab University campus is well maintained and big
We can attend all the fests as UIET student.
There is no home state reservation and this quality of students is good

Dislikes

Infrastructure is old of UIET but it's decently maintained.
Classroom are also old without AC and smart board facilities
College is quite far from hostel and there is a hostel shortage.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is old and isn't industrial ready and thus students are also not industrial ready. I chose Electronics and communications cause Centra government is now focusing on semiconductor industries. And thus i choose ECE

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 121855 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Annual fees is around 1.2 lakhs and total fees is 4.9 lakhs. There was a registration fees of 2700 for jac chandigarh and 5500 for document verification. Fees is same for all students regardless of their category.

Campus Life

Goonj is the annual Techno-cultural & Literary festival of University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University. We have access to both UIET and Panjab University library. We also have litrature,arts, technical and sports club at UIET.

Hostel Facilities

Room is equipped with basic things like bed, almirah and table. Meal quality is good and taste is also good, price is pretty normal so overall mess is good here. We have to register at PU Hostel website for hostel allocation and hostel is allotted based on our merit rank.

Hostel Fee: INR 15500 per year

Admission

I had the option to go to IIIT Manipur, IIIT kalyani and IIIT Bhagalpur but I chose UIET over that cause of low fees , affordability and Placement. Infrastructure wise IIITs are good but ROI wise UIET was better

Faculty

Faculty are well experienced and qualified. Faculty to student ratio is not good cause there isn't enough permanent teachers. There are 2 minors and 1 semester exam for a semester. Exam is moderate not tough neither easy

PEC is great choice

Placement Experience:

placements from rti report placement percentage is over 75 + and in ee its 74 percent cse 93 and ece 84 percent avg for cse is 18 lakhs and ece is 16 lakhs ee its 14 lakh and other branches have 8 10 lakh avg but the placemnt percentage in mechncial is 70 percent other branches like civil production have a little less percentage of placements but they have opportunities in college

PEC: where engineering meets opportunity

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placements after their sixth semester. Many companies visit PEC some of the top recruiters are Uber,Microsoft,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Texas Instruments,Cisco,American Express and many more. This year the highest package was 61 lpa given to 3 students from circuital branches,6 students received offer of 52 lpa. The average CTC was 13.6 lpa and specifically about ECE it was 15.6 lpa. 456 out of 694 students were placed which is a placement rate of 65.7% including PPOs from companies. My plans would be to get placed with a good package .

Pec chandigarh review

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are offered and internships are also offered in the 3rd year, many new branches are also being introduced to the curriculum. Placements are according to the branch and capability of the student. There is good placement ratio.

Its more than an average decent college you can surely come here.

Placement Experience:

You can appear for placements starting from 7th semester onwards plus you can apply yourself as well to various off-campus opportunities. The companies which visit are decent i would say including the likes of Amazon, Deloitte, Hero came as well few years ago for mechanical engineers. Around 50-60 decent companies visit the college for placement with around 300 job offers with the highest package around 41 lpa which was off campus probably but Amazon could give upto 25-30 lpa i guess, The average package would be around 7 lpa i guess but its gonna improve year by year. If you are in CSE or IT you are most chilled with around 80% placements, in ECE as well there are decent placements but after that you have to study really well to get placed But you can always do a lot of things after getting your degree.

Remarks:

I chose this because of the brand of Panjab University. Plus you get a lot of exposure of Chandigarh and there are a lot of opportunities there based on your field, even better than Delhi. Plus you never get distracted in Chandigarh because of the reason that people are too much work and ethics focused. Also, the level of knowledge the teachers have in my college is just great.

BEST you can get in low JEE ranks. GREAT ROI.

One can get admission in UIET, CHD by applying for JAC CHANDIGARH counselling. One has to give JEE mains exam and based on its score, JAC Chandigarh conducts counselling through which admissions process occurs. I applied for YMCA Faridabad and DCRUST Murthal as well. I also applied for JOSAA counselling but due to my low rank in JEE mains, I couldn't get any NIT or IIIT. I was getting YMCA or DCRUST but choose UIET over them, because of its location.
