Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is built in a manner which teaches the students the broader concepts first and then fives into the depths. It is taken care of that the students go get practical knowledge of the subject and this field trips are organised from time to time though they can and should be more frequent. The syllabus is indeed vast.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Yes the college does provide with internship opportunities. Miranda House offers a variety of internship opportunities, including: Principal's Internship Scheme Interns may be designated as Principal's Interns to add value to their services and jobs. INSPIRE Internship Programme A week-long workshop that provides exposure to science leaders for top 1% school students and science teachers. The program includes motivational talks, demonstration talks, and hands-on workshops. D S Kothari Centre for Research and Innovation in Science Education Students and faculty can work on research projects and enrichment programs in science and science education. The program includes mentoring, capacity building, and education programs. Placement Cell The Placement Cell offers internship opportunities in a variety of fields, including editorial, human resources, finance, Japanese translation, political analysis, and writing.

Placement Experience

2

There is a placement cell in the college which is enhancing and improving itself every year, with more and more employing firms taking part. As of now there is an average placement of 5.5LPA in the college, which will gradually increase. Even if the student is not able to acquire a placement, the college puts in several important skills in the student to secure a good career in this competitive world

Fees and Financial Aid

Miranda House is a government college associated with University of Delhi. The annual fees of my course was ?15,500/- and the annual fees for any course doesn't exceed ?25,000. Plus scholarship programs are also run for students from OBS,SC,ST,EWS categories which further aid in the fees. The placement cell in improving every year and has now an average placement of 5.5LPA. The fees of Honours course and masters is generally higher than that for normal BA Program, but that too is very reasonable and won't exceed 25k on an annual basis.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is worth all the praise! The crowd is amazing. There are students from every corner of the country and even from abroad and all the students are really sweet and helpful. There are societies and clubs for every sort of extra curricular you name, become a part of anything you're passionate about. The Library has thousands of books and a really peaceful and clean environment. There are many student are social groups in the college like the AARAMBH Organisation for the purpose of serving the society. Apart from that there are regular fests and events organised in the college which just light up the whole environment.

Admission

Miranda House was the first preference for me. It has been the number one college in the NIRF rankings for seven consecutive years which undoubtedly makes it worth persuing. It has an all girls college and has a very peaceful environment, equal importance is given to both academics and extra curricular activities and overall the fests and other events really do make the college an amazing place to be in.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is all amazing. The professors are really very learned and always teach in a very professional yet friendly manner for each student to grasp the topic, questions are always welcome and also for extra doubts, all teachers take tutorial classes three times a week for student to ask their doubts regarding anything. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester. Apart from those there are Internal assessments which are also counted in calculating the CGPA

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
