Likes

Lush greenery in the campus that provide one with freshness and positivity.
Availability of facilities for sports like football, volleyball, lawn tennis, table tennis, cricket,etc.
Availability of laboratories with equipment related to the branch for experiment performance

Dislikes

Availability of stray dogs in the campus that lead to fear of diseases.
Lack of options in the market with just two stationeries, 3 to 4 eateries and two banks
Unavailability of dispensary after 5p.m. and on weekends which makes it difficult for the students in case of any medical emergencies to receive immediate medical treatment

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum of this college for non core branches needs a revision as it is not alligned with presennt demand of the market, making sstudents learn from different courses other than college studies. Other than that nothing special.

Placement Experience

Internship is offered in this college at the beginning of 6th semester and placements begin from 4th year one wards once companies start coming this colege for recuitment. Many companies like L&T, Wipro, Microsoft, Deloitte, etc come for placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently the fee structure has been incresed for 2022-2026 batch and further from 86000 per semester to 94000 per semester(188000 yearly). Admission fee along with registration and everything else (other than hostels) is of the amount 141000. For studdents from categorries other than general ones include a fee waiver of 50% from the total cost Merit based scholarships include scholarships for top 2 performers of the class along with other scholarships like those funded by the department, and provided by the college authorities.

Campus Life

College has clubs ffor literally everything like music, art, dance and dramatics. The interesting thing about clubs is that this college has clubs dedicated to each branch of engineering as well. Like ASCE (American Society for Civil Engineers),etc

Admission

I chose thiis college being the best college for engineering in my area (i.e tricity i.e. Panchkkula, Mohali and Chandigarh). Also JEE mains is a requirement to take part in this college and also it has a grreat reputation.

Faculty

Faculty student ratio is about good ( 1 teacher on every 10 students). Also new faculty is being hired to replace the older ones and also. I personally love faculties from the electrical department (Dr. Anu Singla) and personally did'nt like certain teachers from civil and production department

Placement Experience:

The placement at uiet chandgarh is quite decent and steadily improving , especially in core branches . Students become eligile for in campus placements from 7th semester . Some big companies also comes for placement like infosys , wipro ,tcs,accenture , ibm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is based of the current industry patterns and is really good . There could be areas of improvements in terms of first year subjects but other than that its very good . the frequency of exams is good and sufficient time is given . they are of moderate level depending on the subject teachers

Is pec Chandigarh worth it

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from 6th semester onwards most of the big companies do visit our campus like apple Flipkart Microsoft Google airbus and most of the big companies come in our placement I package for electrical branch in 2025 was 52 lpa and the average median package remained about 13 LPA for2025 the data isn't out yet but typically 72to 75 percent students get placed in my branch my plans after the degree is to get a stable corporate job of 18+lpa

Pec...The best college in chd

Placement Experience:

This college has decently good packages both the average package and median packages as well as almost 80 percent studnets are placed before the 4th year ends...if I talk about my branch the median was 11 lpa and almost 90 students were palced out of 120 in 2024

My review of PEC Chandigarh

Course Curriculum Overview:

For improvement in teaching methods, they can go digital, like using smartboards, or use more practical teaching methods, or maybe just improve the way of teaching simply. Teaching methods here really need upgrades, mostly students here have to rely on youtube when exams come near.

Pec is still worth it

Placement Experience:

The placements have been lowered by 10-20% recently, but they are getting better. You will get a job if you manage cgpa above 7 and are decent with your skills, but then don't dream for 20lpa + jobs, you need to work upon yourself in silence to get 25-50 lpa packages and they do happen in our colleges, highest package in electrical 2024-25 was 52 lpa and in ece cse they had 61 lpa. Companies start coming in 3rd year for internships, only 10% manage to get intern in 3rd year, companies like microsoft, atlassian, flipkart, mercedes, jp morgan etc. they do come. Placement perecentage is like 75-80% in electrical and it is very low in civil (around 40-50%), in cse it is like 90% or even higher. My plan is to get an intern asap. (Maybe in 2nd year theough offcampus)

college offers on campus placements from 4th year of the course . main companies are : Bains , JP Morgan , MaKinzey , PhonePe , Amazon , Apple visits here . highest and average package are around 60 lakh and 17 lakh respectively . 90 % students got placements this year .

I applied for Maulana Azad institute of technology Bhopal but I didn't get branch higher than mechanical for my rank so I considered this college this college has great placement records and good legacy so this was a safe option for me and the location of this colleges just perfect for me I was also spectacle about getting admission into NIT Jaipur under chemical branch but I wanted circuital branch and the electrical branch of this college is better than most of the college in the same league so I choose this college for this particular reason I got rejected in maulana Azad institute of technology for my low rank I wanted at least a circle branch so I didn't get admission there basically you give exam JEE mains to be specific and then you get your rank and just a basic process you enroll in juice accounts in counselling you get this college there are other course like be designing so you have to give respective exam for that course...Read More

I applied for NIT KKR electrical, but couldn't make it because of the rank. I applied for other colleges like IIIT Bhopal and Una but didn't choose them because of them being really remote or not at par with PEC. PEC among all my choices seemed best. Pec is still worth it

I chose this college because of the fees and legacy of college, it is more than 100 years old and everyone in the industry knows about it, the fees is low compared to others. the campus is decent 150 acres which is comparatively better than other government colleges (though if u want better campus and can pay high, go for thapar). I applied to thapar, IIITs but at the end chose here. I was rejected from NIT delhi due to rank (college tag is more valuable of NIT). Admission process is only through josaa and csab, only online (after jee mains). And cse at pec is very popular, along with ece....Read More
