Remarks

The college is located in an ideal spot north Kolkata, with all its litttle nooks and corners, and delicious eateries is a haven for students. In all honestly, while there is no particular area the college is exceptional in, I think it is enough that it

Entrance Preview

The college doesn't require any specific entrance exam admission is awarded on the basis of marks scored in Class 12 exams. There is a minimum cut-off that is required to apply, and that's all this is one of the few colleges in Kolkata that offer the Mass Communication course hence I picked this college.

Internships Opportunities

Unfortunately, there are no internship experiences offered by the college.

Placement Experience

1

Placement opportunities are extremely restricted in the college. TCS is the only company that recruits appearing/appeared graduates, and they naturally stress on only the B.Com departments, as a result of which the placement pool becomes thoroughly restricted.

College Events

1.5

The college used to hold a cultural fest till even a few years back, but since the transfer of power to the new student union in 2011, the much-hyped fest has become a thing of the past.

Fees and Financial Aid

Personally, I did not find the need to apply for any such scholarships/loans, but there are a few such opportunities that are apparently given to needy students, as mentioned in the college prospectus.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is pretty normal, with an equally healthy percentage of both male and female students as such, parties are practically non-existent in the college there are quite a few extracurricular activities held, though, and cultural programmes keep taking place every few months. The student union is very strong in the college, so it's a given that the college is a hotbed for political activity. There are no discrepancies when it comes to treating students of different backgrounds/genders/ethnicity, which is a highlight of the college everyone is treated with equal footing, and respected equally as students.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college does not have a system of offering hostels there are plenty of PG's in an around the college that offer decent living arrangements at a nominal price.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no official alumni association, but the senior student network is, on the whole, a very supportive and helpful group during the initial few weeks of college, almost all freshers have a hard time adjusting, so it falls upon the seniors to make this transition a smooth phase for them. Personally, I have greatly benefited from my interaction with senior students, both from my department, and other departments of the college.

Faculty

5

The faculty is excellent they are extremely proficient in their field of study, and toil hard to impart knowledge to students, year after year. The course structure is, of course, in keeping with the syllabus prescribed the University of Calcutta, so it i

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I used to read so many novels from my childhood and that inspired me in getting attracted to this field. We used to have the fecility of having seminar in the end of every month after compleating of each lessons. And this process helped us in true education. After every year professors from differnt parts of the country used to come for a seminer for overall groth of the students. Actually is theory teaching style is followed in the college, according to me some developments in the practical teaching can be used. Semister is held at the end of every six months and the exams are used to be moderate in nature.
