Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course primarily becz it offered well rounded curriculum with a mix lf theoritical and practical subjects. The curriculum is effective in providing foundational knowledge, especially in core subject like financial management, marketing, maths. However there is slight gap when it comes to applying this knowledge to real life. There is scope of improvement in updating some outdated topics. Introducing newer pattern of learning would make the program more relevant to modern day requirement. The exams are well spaced through out the semster, typically scheduled after completing key actions of syllabus

Internships Opportunities

5

Deloittee, Tata power, KPMG, accenture and EY offers internship with stipend for marketing, sales, HR and data analyst roles. Theri process of selection is based on some tasks like for social media manager, website making can be task

Placement Experience

4

Student become eligile for placement from 3rd year that is 5th semster. Top companies that have visited for placement includes deloitte, EY, accenture, Mckinsey, Zomato, Urban and tata power. The college also hold annual internship fair where student got internships. In 2023 ,companies made an offer of total 295 students to be placed. Highest package offered is 20lakhs Per annum. And average pakage is 4 lakh per annum. The roles included the position such as HR, Data analyst, researcher, sales, marketing and consulting

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

In the first year 2023 i paid 15750 Rs for the b. Com hons in gargi college, du. Examination fee depend on your papers opted by you including core papers, sec, vac, ge, aec. I paid examination fee in second semester amounted to 2000 rs. Now i recently paid my second year annual fee of 17995rs . So there was almost 2K increase in fee. College is also offering scholarship for caste categories and for 9+cgpa students.

Campus Life

4.5

Two major annual festivals are reverie and kriti. Reverie is college cultural fest typically held in January. It includes variety of cultural performances, competitors and entertainment concert by singers. Kriti is annual technical fest of gargi college generally conducted in march. Focus on technical and academic activities, including workshops, seminars and competitors related to technology. Library offer 75000+ books across various subjects from different dept like humanities and commerce. The library also offer access to numerous national and international journals. It provide e resources also The college classroms are well ventiliated, spacious and ac classroms designed to foster conducive learning environment. College offer athletics, team sports and fitness activities in sports. Also offer debating, literary club, social sevices, and music drama in extracurriculum event

Admission

I choose over others like kamla nehru college or jesus merry college because of its strong NRIF rank and academic reputation, excellent infrastructure, and better alumini network . The faculty is highly qualified and the college offer good placement offers. I did face rejection from vanky college due to their higher entrance cut off but i belive my current college is also soo much better. The admission process was also straightforward accepting scores from cuet with cutoffs based on courses. My score was 752 out of 800 . After clearing exam there was smooth counselling and document varification process

Faculty

4.5

Faculty student ratio is fairly balanced. Generally, the relationship between faculty and students is cordial and professors are approachable. However some professor may be more responsive than others when it comes to personal mentorship. One of my fav professor is my maths teacher who is so genuine and kind to students. Also ready for our problems to solve. Her way of teaching is sooo good. Faculty member that i don't like is my marketing teacher who is so rude and dont pay attention to students needs. I don't like her way of teaching. We typically have 7 exam in one semster. 3 are of core subjects and 4 are other opted subjects. Subjects like accountacy, management is so interesting and easy to pass. Law exam is also easy but it need lot of learning from one day of college to exam day. Opted papers are kind of easy not to be worry for that.. B. Com hons provide a solid foundation for students looking to pursue higher studies in professional course.

Curriculum was to the point. Everything was explained nicely in books provided to us and faculty, teachers were very good. They were passionate about their job . I personally had no problems with timings or frequency of exams. I can't comment on areas of improvement either.

The placement cell is good overall as it provides us with many opportunities. Many companies have visited in the past, and many students have been placed in higher companies. This year, one student got a 48 lac pa placement offer, which was one of the highest in the whole of Du University. The highest was 48lac, and the average are 7 to 10 lac. My plans after completing this degree are to start my own business or pursue higher studies.
