- The academic community was very pressuring and stressful sometimes
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is generally regarded well for its relevance and comprehensiveness. Strong emphasis on both theocratical and practical application was there. It integrates contemporary topics and methods so the students won't face the real world challenges in simple way. Some faculty can do something better but overall teaching methods are upto the par.
Internships Opportunities
Miranda offers various internships are Deloitte, KPMG and other NGOs as well. Roles include research analyst, marketing intern and so and so. Ans stipends starts from 5000-15000 per month and there is always an opportunity waiting.
Placement Experience
The college has an excellent placement record where students get eligible for placements right after the sixth semesters itself. The 80-90% gets placed with the highest as upto 10-12lpa and the average being 6-7lpa. I plan to purse further studies as of now.
Fees and Financial Aid
Miranda house is one of the most premier institutions affiliated with university of Delhi, and has established a reputation for academic excellence and holistic development of the students who come there. The fee structure has been done in a way that can be easily covered and all the aspects of education is included in it in a non expensive way. The chargers usually includes registration, tuition, caution, admission fee, development fees and some compulsory charges. In the political Science does we had to pay around 14000-15000 per annum. On the first year it was even less. Then comes the examination time where you pay a little fee to the university directly. Overall it was not very expensive compared to many other universities and also you get to walk out with a degree from the most prestigious university. Throughout the academic year Miranda tries to include scholarships, and help the people in need. And the fees is the same for all the students.
Campus Life
Campus life is vibrant in Miranda with fests and events happening throughout the year. There are annual fest called Tempest and Anubhava and all these happening. It's always a colourful campus through the year.
Admission
I chose Miranda House because of the strong academic reputation, vibrant campus life and emphasis on the women's empowerment in the college. Even after getting in Xavier Mumbai and multiplexes of other colleges in north campus Miranda was always my first choice. The admission process at our time just included meeting the eligibility criteria of marks. It was smooth throughout. My procedure was positive marked by excellent guidance as well.
Faculty
It has dedicated extremely talented faculty. The faculty to student ratio is very favourable allowing personalised learning and attention to one's in need. We all found them very approachable which made life in Miranda great. Notable faculty includes prof Hena Mam known for her engaging teaching lessons. Some faculty was a little unapproachable as well but when it came to the academics they all did us great. The course structure was amazing including core and electives giving us a great proactive and efficient curriculum. We are regularly updated to stay relevant as well. Exams were 2 major exams per semester, which had internals and semester exam.
Other Applied Colleges
St. Xavier's College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Political Science)
Miranda had much more to offer and besides it’s India’s number one college!
