One must join this who wants to pursue their career in VLSI/Embedded (Ece Related) subjects you will get a master degree aswellas nice job so get ready to take manipal exam and join this couse without fail.

Entrance Preview

GATE manipal university entrance test I got 256 marks i am very much interested in VLSI JOB i like to do core job rather than software job thats why i preferred this course and college.

Course Curriculum Overview

C Language, Linux, Data Structures, VLSI Design, VLSI Verification, Digital Design, Analog Systems are the main subjects and also same number of LABS are there, LAB environment is very good.

Internships Opportunities

Internship usually offered by companies like INTEL, Synopsys, MICROCHIP, WHIZCHIP etc they usually provide per month 20000INR stipend which will be good enough for your hostel fee.

Placement Experience

Placement record is better around 70-80%. It depends on student's percentage they has to get more than 8.5CGPA to secure a good job.

College Events

SPORTS DAY, ANNUAL DAY etc they usually compete with other colleges in the same university. Its nice experience get involved in all of those activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Around 5 lackhs including hostel fee its better to take room outside and stay you will get rooms easily for rent with all facilities and also in hostel restrictions are there.

3 internals and 1 external per sem in the first year in second year 8-12 months internship its not that tough.

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

I tried JEE but could not secure a good enough percentile to get into prominent NITs. MIT Manipal seemed to be better than any of the cet colleges with only the course fee being slightly on the higher end. I applied to SRM and VIT, both of which i got accepted into, but opted out as it seemed like both of these colleges rely heavily on student intake and are money minded. MIT Manipal has an exam called the MET which is based on a jee scheme (+3 -1). In my year the only marks required to secure a seat in the college was the MET but the scheme has changed and now board marks are also taken into consideration. JEE percentile can also be considered if the student secures above 95 , but most students take MET and are given ranks according to it....Read More
