Likes
- The first thing i liked is the infrastructure, it's too good when you compare with other colleges in Kolkata. We get good field for sports and events too
- The laborateries are very clean and has more than enough equipments to perform the tasks given
- The college provides a number of mentorship programs in the campus itself which gives us very innovative ideas to start with
Dislikes
- The faculty of teaching are poor as they try to just make us study the things only coming for semester
- There's a language barrier as most of people including teachers teaches in Bengali
- They don't conduct mid sem which results in extreme pressure during the end of semester
Course Curriculum Overview
CSE is a very highly demanded course in day today's world and coming here I got to know why is it so. It's a very tough course and needs regular practice to score well and get knowledge. It also gives a very high opportunity for placement as I have mentioned it's the most demanding course compared to all the courses available. The exams are on a regular basis. The teacher conducts 4 surprise tests in between 6 months of the semester and at the end, we have our semester examination which is tough, to be honest. People need to work really to get pass every subject.
Internships Opportunities
There are a few internship programs which are provided by the college from companies like TCS, Flipkart, and Google, But the pressure of semester examinations and all doesn't allow many students to participate in many internship programs.
Placement Experience
Usually, Students get eligible from the end of 3rd year for the campus placement. There are different companies which include TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, NINJA, AMAZON, etc. which offers students for an average of 6 lakhs per annum to 20 lakhs per annum. But students to get eligible to sit in placement cells should maintain a base average CGPA. Almost 60 to 70 percent of the students get placed in good companies. I am personally targeting Amazon to get a good amount as my specialization will be very beneficial for them.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure was different when I joined the college, it was approximately 90000 per year, but it has been increased to 120000 per year last month. The fees include everything like tution fees, development fees, caution fees, etc. Talking about admission fees, it's 25000 at the time of admission and there's a different amount taken for examination.
Campus Life
There are many active clubs that allows students to enhance their extracurricular activities or passions like sports, language, poetry, dance, music, nss, and much more. Also, they provide a massive central library which a huge variety of books as well as newspapers. They even provide a digital Library too to access computers. They have a separate field for cricket, volleyball, badminton, basketball, table tennis, football and many more. Annually they also conduct a sports week to boost students in the field of sports
Admission
I have taken admission through JEE MAINS. Though the main admission criteria is WBJEE which is a exam for the people residing in West Bengal. As my Rank was AIR 32067 with 96.64 percentile, it was easy to take the admission here but usually the cutoff goes to near about 80000 for CSE Branch and I don't have exact idea regarding the cutoff marks or rank for WBJEE
Faculty
The teachers are very friendly here, despite having poor skills with teaching, they try to make students learn and help even if needed personally also, we also are provided with a mentor who talks to us every week and suggests or guides us in a very good and positive way.
