Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My course is zoology honors therefore, it is all about animals and the course curriculum is best suited according to my course. They make us practice hands-on in the labs which enhances our abilities to perform further experiments and research in the future. One improvement that I would suggest our teachers do is that just don't read out the presentations that were made last year and actually provide us with fresh content and reading material because some teachers do end up doing that, not all but some, and because of this it gets difficult for us to study during exam time.

Internships Opportunities

4

The ELITE internship was ongoing during the summers on campus which offered rs. 1000/- as stipend to every student who participated. Apart from this there are several other opportunities that one can grab all around the year, VCIS summer internship being one of them. Basically, we have to do research on a topic that we can choose ourselves.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 10,000 rs. for my course and this was the annual fee so it's quite affordable and is not heavy on our parent's pockets. There are several scholarships running all around the year one just has to be aware and apply for them, professors also provide us with information on them. There was a summer internship that was offered by Delhi University and it was named VCIS summer internship I did apply for that and got selected in the first round but couldn't get through in the second round. I came to know of this internship through a professor only. Yes, so there are several opportunities one just has to grab them with his/her full potential.

Campus Life

4

The campus life that I experienced in this one year was decent and there have been multiple departmental annual fests that took place from time to time however the annual fest didn't take place this year for some reason. The zoology departmental fest was called ‘leiotherix' and it seemed fun genuinely. The library is nice and almost every book is available there, we have a reading room just above the library which is very nice. There are multiple societies as well in our college, the infamous dhwani (theatre society) is one of them. There are smart boards in all the labs, all the labs are air conditioned. Interdepartmental sports events take place during October every year and it is very nice to be a part of it.

Admission

The admission process was not too smooth as there were multiple rounds of seat allocation. The cut off for my course last year (2023) was around 350-400/600 and we had to appear for cuet and the admission was purely based on our scores. There is portal called the CSAS portal on which all the information and seat allocation process was mentioned. I surely did get the benefits of reservation system since I had scored around 280/600 and still end up getting admission in the second round of seat allocation. It would have been a smoother experience of there wasn't so many cut offs and seat allocation rounds and it could have been simpler this is what I feel.

Faculty

5

Every professor on our faculty is top-notch, they are experts in their respective fields and are very cooperative. They listen to the issues of every student and guide them accordingly. I have never felt that I lack a mentor since I have been attending this college. They are simply the best teachers, they not only teach us about the subjects but also give us lessons on life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The core subjects are very well divided, the main problem arises with the other additional subjects which requires efforts as same as the other subject even though they don't hold any importance as such. Maybe reducing other subject or making them practical based instead of theory based would be helpful.

The placements of my college are moderate as the average package is ?6.5 lakhs and the highest package is around ?23.02 lakhs . Many prestigious companies like delloite, accenture have held various placement sessions in DRC and it's overall a good to place for companies to get high skilled students. The placement cell is very active too which makes it possible for our college to get many internships and placements opportunities.

There are many different kinds books present in library like literature,Hindi, Chemistry, Maths, zoology, biology, botany, political science, History Geography the books are only alloted till 12pm and only for 15 days after that you will be charged if book is not returned Sports and Extracurricular are good but classrooms are not that great most projectors in classrooms don't work . There are many good societies in college like jamini the art society and others but joining has caused students to leave their classes which affects them academically

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.
