Course Curriculum Overview

2

Some subjects are not even related to the sourse like I applied for civil engineering but I have to study 1 other course subject which is not useful for me in future they don't even ask us. Semester ends in 4 months and midsem exam done in 3 days with 2 exams per day and in endsems it ends in 1 week.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

6th semester is internship semester and many big companies visit here as I already said this college is only good for its placement and internship because it's 100 years old college and have good reputation. We have 1 minor project and 2 major projects in our degree.

Placement Experience

3

From 7th semester you are eligible for campus placement. Mostly all big companies you heard of, visit here like Amazon, apple, Microsoft,... because it's a 100 years old college, and this college is only good because of its college placements. More than 50 to 60 percent get placed but it differs by branch you can detailed information on pec.ac.in After degree I'm going for ese exams preparation.

Fees and Financial Aid

For general students per semester fees is 86000 but it increases every new year, for category students 86000 for 1 semester and for other 6000. Scholarship are available for those have financial issues. Scholarship amount provided based on your requirements. There is no college employment.

Campus Life

2.5

There are many clubs and societies because it's a 100 years old college so we have many clubs and societies even NCC. Our main fest in PECFEST happens every year and best in North after IIT Delhi. For 1st year classes are modern but after 1st year classes are old school type. Sports like basketball, badminton, volleyball, football and many more available here. We have one athletics day every year. Every group have there head and there are 4th year students.

Admission

Jee mains students who clear the cut off here are eligible. All necessary information available on pec.ac.in site. Reservation benefits are applicable here in cutoff and fees. Difficulty level of exams depends on professors, and exams time is very short not good they just finish the exams without any breaks. Admission here is easy because it's not nit or iit it's GFTI

The students become eligible for placements after their sixth semester. Many companies visit PEC some of the top recruiters are Uber,Microsoft,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Texas Instruments,Cisco,American Express and many more. This year the highest package was 61 lpa given to 3 students from circuital branches,6 students received offer of 52 lpa. The average CTC was 13.6 lpa and specifically about ECE it was 15.6 lpa. 456 out of 694 students were placed which is a placement rate of 65.7% including PPOs from companies. My plans would be to get placed with a good package .

Placement Experience:

You can appear for placements starting from 7th semester onwards plus you can apply yourself as well to various off-campus opportunities. The companies which visit are decent i would say including the likes of Amazon, Deloitte, Hero came as well few years ago for mechanical engineers. Around 50-60 decent companies visit the college for placement with around 300 job offers with the highest package around 41 lpa which was off campus probably but Amazon could give upto 25-30 lpa i guess, The average package would be around 7 lpa i guess but its gonna improve year by year. If you are in CSE or IT you are most chilled with around 80% placements, in ECE as well there are decent placements but after that you have to study really well to get placed But you can always do a lot of things after getting your degree.

Remarks:

I chose this because of the brand of Panjab University. Plus you get a lot of exposure of Chandigarh and there are a lot of opportunities there based on your field, even better than Delhi. Plus you never get distracted in Chandigarh because of the reason that people are too much work and ethics focused. Also, the level of knowledge the teachers have in my college is just great.
