- Teachers are very good, supportive,they give us life lessons along with good knowledge about the outer world.
- Other faculty members support, many cultural programs happens from that we can learn many things about different cultures
- Geography department is well maintained , lab is well maintained and instruments are available
Dislikes
- Washroom is not well maintained, they remain always unhygienic and water is not available
- Boys hostel are not available and some girls hostel are not good
- College infrastructure is very poor for some department
Course Curriculum Overview
I was wondering how mountains formed and other geographical phenomenon that's why i took geography to learn more. This subject is realistic subject which deals with different aspects of environment . Geography should be include math as a compulsory subject because without proper knowledge of math it is difficult to learn about different things.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our college the tuition fee is minimum (660) but the examination fee is high(1030) . The complete cost of my education per year is 40 k whereas i only get scholarship of 12k which is not sufficient for me. There is no campus employment in our college. For geography department we need more scholarship because we have to buy our practical assets also which is very costly in Darjeeling and other areas .
Campus Life
There is not much annual functions or months festival. Books are of very old version and journals are not available in department library and there is no Book at central library. College sometime oraginze a sports event.but there are students who is trying to make many groups like dance group etc
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is quite good and the facilities are fantastic because we can use any electronic gadgets. Hostel food is very good quality. Hostel registration process is to apply for hostel in college from certain specific department. The locality is quite safe and good as my hostel is near DM office
Admission
The minimum eligibility which is required is the degree of higher secondary education from any authorized board. The application form is on the website of the college and it is available for a certain specific time. Reservation benefits are there but not that much. The website should be more developed with the help of technical advancement.
Faculty
The faculty members are sufficient for some departments but not sufficient for several departments . The ratio of student and teacher is moderate in overall. Faculty members always helpful ,they teach us various methods and give us advice. Teachers are some time busy with University work.
